My family and I stayed in this hotel for the weekend as we were visiting southwold to go to the 'Latitude' festival. When we arrived, the helpful lady showed us to our room. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large, light, clean two floored room. My parents slept in the large room upstairs, with a king sized bed, T.V,... More

Good newly refurbished rooms in outbuildings, with clean modern bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Stayed midweek in winter and so hotel was quiet. Common areas are comfortable, with a country pub feel, and lots of log fires. Food was good - dinner was good gastropub standard; good full breakfast. More

We’ve been to this coast before, so know the area well. Not much in the village beyond the Hotel. That’s not a problem as we used it as a base for nearby Southwold and Aldeburgh. Also just a five-minute drive away is Dunwich Beach/Marsh, beautiful, miles of walks through the nature reserve, decent tearoom at the visitor centre too! This... More

One night stay on business. Hotel very quiet but welcoming on wet winters night. Shown to small but nicely furnished room. Home made biscuits and bottled water nice touch as was free WiFi internet. Comfortable bed, good shower room. Dinner in bar by log fire: food was excellent, including copious home made bread and this was replicated at breakfast- fresh... More

I stayed on a Thursday evening. The room was clean and spacious. I had a fabulous night's sleep in a comfortable bed and there was no noise outside. The evening meal was not cheap but of a high standard. The pork was especially tender and well-presented. My only issue was the ice cream - 3 scoops, two of which were... More

a make-over of a former inn - now more hotel/restaurant than pub. Some rooms in the main house the others in a series of converted and newly built 'outbuildings' round the car park to the back of the hotel and immediately adjacent to it on the roadside. Furnished in a 'minimalist' style, with large wet rooms and also having a... More
