This is not some faceless business hotel chain, this is a converted country house. What I received was a warm and professional service. The rooms are individual and perfectly adequate. Even my room above reception was warm and quiet. I didn't eat in their restaurant in the evening however breakfast was good and the service prompt. I will most certainly... More

We stayed at the Broom Hall Country Hotel on 15 October 2011 for one night as a couple with our dog. After looking for several hotels that catered for taking dogs, we found Broom Hall. What an excellent find, we had a lovely spacious comfortable room (the photos on the website do not do it justice), lovely bathroom including bath... More

Broom Hall is a lovely old Victorian building which has been sensitively adapted to hotel accommodation. The gardens are colourful and tranquil, the rooms spacious and the bathrooms are generous. The staff were wonderfully helpful at all times but were never overbearing or intrusive. There is the facility to enjoy either a Swedish or hot stone massage at a very... More

We stayed here on the 25th June 2011 to be near a family party. The rooms were not clean and fresh in fact they smelt extremely damp even the bedding. Our taps didn't work so we had to clean our teeth in hot water!! Our bathroom was designed for disabled. Breakfast was served by a young girl who didn't know... More

Helpful friendly service from local staff. Room was very clean. Decor and fittings were a bit old fashioned but in good condition. At least they are not wasting resources by refurbishing perfectly ok rooms with stylish modern stuff that is not very functional. Full length bath (there's a rarity in a hotel) but no shower - so check your room... More

The rooms are named after birds or flowers which is a bit weird. The room I had was on the 2nd floor with a roof window, I constantly banged my head on it when it was open. Bathroom, immaculately clean but very dated, poor, lumpy pillows and creaking floors kept me awake late and woke me early. No iron available... More

rooms were good, although over cluttered with furniture. creaking floors and furniture were more akin to an old timbered pub? Food was very hit and miss - a dry salty risotto made with basmati rice makes you doubt the chef's skills. Several other dishes were well made, but how can you tell which he can or can't cook properly? Waiting... More

We're locals and decided to try the restaurant as a possible venue for taking visitors for a nice meal. Maybe we picked a bad night (the manager was on honeymoon!) but the staff seemed totally disorganised, and food was not as described on the menu and only just passible. There was only one veg served - boiled red cabbage -... More

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay at Broom Hall Country Hotel at the beginning of June. We boooked into the coach house area of the hotel-it was not what i would describe as a coach house first of all!! More a dog house. The main part of the hotel looked nice, and from the reviews i read... More

An imposing Victorian Country House Hotel with a very informal atmosphere. We stayed in the coach house which is about 40 metres away from the main building, lovely, big room and enormous bathroom! The main house has lots of comfy sofas and 2 restaurants, a formal one for main meals and a more informal one serving breakfast and bar meals, all... More
