Not a very friendly welcome when we arrived. The rooms were basic, no room service we were aware of, and no mini bar, breakfast was disappointing. Grounds were great. If it wasn't for the first class dining experience I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

We discovered Serafino on the web and booked not knowing exactly what we would find. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed by the setting and quality of our stay. The room was large and private, though the furnishings were not the most modern. Everything else was first class. The breakfast basket delivered to the room was delightful and the two... More

The grounds are beautiful and seem to promise so much when you drive up to it. That said, the restaurant is pretty average and overpriced. Our prawn starter was OK (too citrusy for my taste) and my steak overcooked (asked for medium rare and got medium well). The lay out of the restaurant could be improved to take advantage of... More

How disappointing! The walls are paper thin. The people in the room next to us were partying in their room til 3.30am. It was so loud that we felt like we were in the room with them! We could hear their conversation and their T.V. When they finally fell asleep we could hear the loud snoring! The reception desk is... More

McLaren Vale has such potential it's sad their accommodations don't live up to that potential. Don't get me wrong... I'll still go back to MV because the wineries are fabulous and their restaurants are outstanding at a world class level. Essentially this place is a motel. The spa rooms are spacious but really spa means large bathtub with jets. I... More

Great front of house. Rooms are tidy but not clean, lots of cobweb. No sheers on windows, poor privacy. Great food at restaurant. Beds are the worst I have slept on for many years. Only one filtered water fountain shared between all rooms in shared laundry. Two stars. Lots of potential, amateurish management. Would not recommend.

The grounds are beautiful but the rooms and ordinary and insects kept getting in despite fly-screens. The dinner was great as was the breakfast hamper. The old couple in the room next door fell asleep with their TV turned right up and we could hear it clearly through the thin walls so we had to try to wake them up.... More

We chose this property for an overnight stay. Whilst the grounds are very attractive, the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. The floor was dirty when we checked in and the walls desperately need patching and re-painting. Dinner, which was included in the package was very good and the breakfast hamper delivered to our room next morning was very... More

For the price, we couldn't fault this motel style accomodation. The kitchenette is useful for pulling together a breakfast or lunch and the fridge is handy. Rooms are large, if a little dated in decor (except for 32" LCD). Restaurant nice. Nice grounds and a great walking track alongside the hotel that goes all around the area and past vineyards,... We only visited the restaurant here, although the grounds looked very nice. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The service was very prompt and we found it to be a relatively quiet restaurant good for a romantic dinner (i.e. you didn't have to shout to be heard). The mains were nice, particularly the beef fillet, but it was the... More
