After reading all the impressive reviews, we were quite surprised to find owners (and a place), who seemed to be a bit tired of offering B&B. Everything was good, but we had better stays at the east coast. The highlight was the daily visit of the cassowaries, but this isn't worth a 3-nights-stay (as we did). A good pit stop... more

We stayed here for a couple of nights (would have been happy to have stayed longer though!). The accommodation is a short drive from the centre of Mission Beach, and in a lovely location. The guest rooms are a good size with a fridge provided, and a nice little ensuite bathroom. There is no TV in the room but there... more

We stayed here for a couple of days and had a lovely, peaceful time. It's set back in the forest and is about 1 mile from the main 'town' of Mission Beach. The gardens and swimming pool are beautiful. Our room was very comfortable with a great balcony from which we could watch all sorts of wildlife - birds, lizards,... more

This is a great B&B. Sue & Mick are laid-back, non-intrusive, genuine people. They don't make you feel "at home" but rather as if Licuala Lodge was your own home. It is a good setup with the accommodation separated from the main house. Beautiful gardens ( Mick generously gave us some cuttings), relaxing pool and huge common lounge with kitchenette,... more

After reading many reviews before picking Licuala out, we were not too surprised with what we found. We had come from the busy Cairns, to the bit more laid back Port Douglas and finally the very laid back, almost horizontal Mission Beach :-)). I had looked at a Google map of Licuala but it was a bit further from the... more

Found this B & B on Tripadvisor and stayed there for 4 days during our visit to Mission Beech. It certainly lived up to all of the recomendations. The rooms are a tad small but hey your in the tropics so why stay inside. The veranda outside the rooms is an ideal place to watch the sun go down with... more

After amazing reviews on trip advisor we were a bit disappointed on our arrival. There was not much interaction with our hosts, although we did get one of our complimentary beers on arrival and were shown to a great King Room with a very nice bathroom. Our room had a shower and bath, very nice. We headed straight to the... more

The quiet elegance of the facilities and its striking natural setting immersed in the rainforest make Licuala Lodge a worthwhile destination rather than just a place to stay the night. Our stay of several nights was made even better by the hosts, whose attentiveness and gentle manner helped create a relaxed and genial atmosphere for all the guests. Everything here... more

My husband and I enjoyed 3 gorgeous nights at Licuala Lodge. It's true... they do have the best brekky in all of QLD! Mick and Sue are both incredibly wonderful and generous people. From a fridge full of beer to offering lifts into town, they are all about service! The lodge is a bit off the beaten track, situated amongst... more
