Stayed for a couple of nights at Sails on Horseshoe in July. The location is fantastic - we have stayed at Sails several times and I do think it's the best situated at Horseshoe bay as it's away from the pub (noise) but only a 2 minute walk. My only complaint is that the resort is getting very tired and... more

Stayed at Sails on Horseshoe for 3 nights in July 2009. Had a great little 1 bedroom ocean front apartment on the ground floor. The location is sensational. An easy walk from the bus stop at Horseshoe Bay and brilliant views from the front door. Across the road and you're on the beach. Perfect. Apartment 5 is well kitted out... more

I am an owner of a Painting company in Townsville and we have just completed major work on Magnetic Island as a result of this I rewarded 2 of my employees, husband and wife on their 10th wedding aniversery with 2 nights at Sails on Horsehoe. My employees were sworn at by the Manager for leaving an exterior light on,... more

Be very wary if you book this place. If you cancel for any reason within 30 days they take your full deposit. I had it booked for myself and my wife for a few nights in Feb. Due the the serious flooding in the area we weren't able to make it to Townsville (where you get the ferry to the... more

Four of us have just had a week staying in a 2 bedroom apartment at Sails on Horseshoe. The Managers, John and Gai couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We had a very pleasant stay, and if we ever go back to Magnetic Island we would definitely stay there. The barbecue and pool area was lovely and everything was... more

I stayed at Sails on Horseshoe, at the north of Magnetic Island, with my family (children aged 4 & 6) for 5 nights during December 2007, just before most states started school holidays. We had a lovely, relaxing time in lovely tropical weather. First, a few words on Magnetic Island itself... MAGNETIC ISLAND The Island is amazingly large (take a... more

We stayed for 8 nights together with 3 other families. We immediately had problems with the attitude of some of the staff. It as described as being suitable for children, however, the facilities didn't match. The small pool had gates that didn't self close, BBQ area was too small for the number of people staying at the resort. Also generally... more

Sails on Horseshoe Bay disappointed us right from the get-go. We are not demanding or overly picky travelers, but when we booked a two-bedroom condo for five nights we thought we’d enjoy two bedrooms with beds in them. Not so. One bedroom had a queen-sized bed, sure, but the other bedroom had two twins, which was fine, but one bed... more

We spent five nights here for free because a friend owned and rented one of the apartments. This place really is brilliant. We stayed in a 2-bedroom apt and the place was clean and spacious and the balcony was brilliant for having a beer and watching the waves roll into magnificent Horseshoe Bay. If I had the money, I would... more

We spent 5 days in a 2 bedroom unit at Sails on Horseshoe Bay in July 2006. There were 2 downstairs bedrooms, one with queen size bed, the other with a single bed & a pull out trundle bed , suitable for our 2 daughters. The main bathroom is downstairs. Our son slept in the upstairs lounge area on the... more
