Given the price, we were expecting a bit more. It was our first trip to the Daintree, which was nice. But our stay at the lodge was just average given the price we paid. Ben (the host) seemed a bit annoyed with us the entire time, like he was doing us a favour for staying there. The rest of the... More

Two nights in the tropical wilderness sounds good - and this is the place to do it. This was a very comfortable stay for the family - we had two bungalows which were very well appointed - comfortable bed, nice bathroom and DVD player/library (no signal for TV/GSM) Ben the host is very welcoming, and a good organiser. The meals... More

Stayed for two nights and was really pleased with the room and general location. Disappointed the swimming pool was out of service due to a fault. Did not manage to soot a cassowary. The only draw back was the mosquitos that don't seem to be put off by any brand of repellant.

This is an exceptional place to stay and much more luxurious than we had expected after reading some of the reviews on this site before we went. We were expecting to be picking off bugs, kept awake by tree frogs and searching for snakes but it was so different. The standard of accommodation was better than many city hotels and... More

We had a fabulous 2 nights stay at the lodge. The lodges are beautiful, clean and have the basic luxury! I am a city person but I loved staying at the rainforest where at night you can hear the animals and nothing else. Ben is an amazing host and cooks nice breakfast and dinners! We felt very welcome! It is... More

We spent a month in Australia in January and spent time at the Wilderness lodge .When we think back to the whole of our holiday, our time in Daintree has left a long standing impression for many reasons .The staff were so helpful and friendly. The lodges themselves were simple but perfectly comfortable .We totally relaxed and enjoyed living in the... We showed up post Cyclone without transportation but Ben took us to the local canopy - well worth it - and home via some great local ice cream. Great food and wonderfully remote. Fellow travelers took us to the Cow Bay Hotel - thank you - for TV tennis and beer. Small, well run, delicious.

Unfortunately I think we'd been spoiled by stays leading up to this one at Shangri La, Spicers Tamarind and at Palm Cove. I thought I'd push the boat out for this $300 treat in the rainforest for a couple of nights. I was expecting luxuries/finishings similar to Spicers Tamarind...but of course constructing something in the Cape Tribulation area isn't going... More

We arrived the afternoon after Cyclone Oswald (soon to be downgraded to ex-Cyclone O) was in town - so the first night in our very lovely cabin at the end of a boardwalk we experienced a non-stop, very loud bombardment of howling, gusting wind and cracking, falling branches and vegetation interspersed with Intermittent bird and animal sounds. It felt like... More

Awesome little getaway right in the middle of the Daintree. The atmospheric rooms were accessed by wooden boardwalks, making us feel like we were somewhere up in the canopy! In spite of no air conditioning, the cool rainforest surrounds maintained a comfortable temperature, and the bed was second to none (best night’s sleep my pregnant wife has had in a... More
