Shelter Cove is a magical spot seemingly in the middle of nowhere, along the Lost Coast and is abundant with natural beauty. The Tides Inn is right on the water, we had a suite with a king bed in the bedroom and a queen murphy bed in the living room. The kitchen was large and well-equipped. This place is spotlessly... Thank you for a marvelous review. We try very hard to make our guests feel welcome. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Don't forget the Winter Special runs every year between November 1st and April 30th - three nights for the price of two. Hope to see you back here... ~~Julie More

The location of this hotel is fabulous, practically in the water. First off, the drive into shelter cove is breathe taking. I have never seen the mountains and the ocean so close together. You must pass over a small mountain range to get to the cove. At the top of the mountain as far as you can see is lush... More

We spent two nights in the one-bedroom apartment unit. We chose this property because we wanted a unit with a kitchen. We were a little disappointed with the bedroom because there was really "no ocean view" due to the walk way to the third floor unit is right outside of the bedroom window. If you leave the drapes opened, you... More

In September of 2011 I was looking for a place to spend a week of tranquility and a place to explore the wonders of the Lost Coast of California. The Tides Inn and their host Julie presented the perfect place to stay. My room (as all rooms and suites) overlook and face the ocean. They are clean, comfortable, and private.... More

The location is fabulous, with uninterrupted views out over the ocean from the balcony. There literally are no interruptions down here - mobiles/cell phones rarely get signal and there is very little road noise. The sound of the ocean is very soothing and relaxes you after the long winding drive to Shelter Cove. The room we had was spacious and... More

At first our son was a bit miffed as this was not the 'usual' beach experience he had in mind - but after an hour exploring the rocks, tide pools and visiting the sea lions - his mind was made up and he wanted to stay for the rest of the vacation - unfortunately we had to move on -... More

Julie who manages The Tides Inn maintains a 'tight ship' so you can be guaranteed excellent service. The beds are really comfortable with high quality linens and the place is very, very clean. Going to sleep at night with the sound of the waves below your window lulls you to sleep - very relaxing. The mini and large suites are... More

Could not have been more lovely. Literally a stone's throw from the beach. The rooms are lovely, beds are comfortable and every detail taken care of (micro, toaster, snack basket). You can sit on the deck outside or inside at the breakfast table and still view the ocean. A nice restuarant is right next door so no reason to leave.... More

I loved my stay at the Tides Inn. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect - right on the edge of the ocean and it felt like the edge of the world. From the hotel I could easily go down to the beach and walk around the tide pools or take a short stroll down the... More

I love this place. I went to sleep with the sound of the surf crashing against the rocky shoreline - bliss. The room was sparkly clean (I almost wondered if the bathroom had ever been used before - it was that clean) and there was a whole pile of pillows. Upon check-in, there was a basket filled with snacks and... More
