Although the hotel is a beautiful, historic building set in beautiful grounds We would never return. The rooms themselves are very dated and lack the luxury feel they should provide given the cost of a one night stay. A friend and I enjoyed a nice evening and morning at Gravetye. The setting is quite lovely--between the stone of the manor house, and the views across the lush countryside. Gravetye is a great place for a short relaxing break. The ambience, surroundings are second to none though the price for this is high. Rooms are well appointed, spacious and well kept. Last time here a 5 Star and it deserved it and we were on an exclusive hire weekend with a large crowd. This time 4 Star - some of the rooms are looking tired (mainly bathrooms looking rather 80s on top floor), old TVs etc and I think it is time to do some amends before they start losing loyal... more
