Helena and Simon were wonderful hosts during our stay in their beautiful home. They were more than accommodating during our stay and despite the current pandemic, everything felt easy and normal. Helena cooked a wonderful breakfast each morning; her local knowledge was insightful and helpful in our exploration of the Peak District during our 4-day visit. 5 stars! Would stay again.

What a fabulous find, our hosts Helena & Simon were delightful. We felt like they were old friends. Our room, Saphira was lovely with a nice view. The breakfasts were great and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you both for making our short stay with you so good. Colin & Jacqui

If you are looking for a beautiful location, a b&b with extremely comfortable accommodation, breakfasts that are absolutely delightful and delicious, and a very warm and genuine welcome, then look no further than Helena and Simon’s establishment. My husband and I have just spent a glorious few days in their beautiful home and would have no hesitation in both returning ourselves and recommending it to everyone else. Good, old fashioned hospitality doesn’t get better than this!

We stayed for 4 nights but would have liked to stay on a bit longer. The Paris Room was lovely - large, light and very nicely presented. Simon and Helena were both very welcoming and full of tips and information about the area. Amazing breakfasts, with Helena preparing a different fruit / yoghurt option every day. Don't miss the cooked breakfast with locally-made oatcakes and eggs from their own very free ranging hens. Overall most definitely a 5 star break.

Helena and Simon have a beautiful home and provide a wonderful B&B service which goes above and beyond what you would get anywhere else. The rooms are beautiful and the service and food even better. We felt extremely welcome and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Just arrived home from a thoroughly enjoyable stay with lovely Helena and Simon (proprietors) The house was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and the walls were decorated with the most wonderful art work (some of which I understand was produced by Helena's own Father). The food provided was delicious including Helena's home baked bread and Bakewell tarts. It really was home from home and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. Returned home feeling refreshed and rested.

Thank you for letting us stay! The B and B wasn’t even open the week we called by they let us come with 15minutes notice which was brilliant as we were stuck. The house was lovely and breakfast just awesome, we will definitely be back, thanks again.

Out stay was three nights, and we arrived on a grey late afternoon. Helena was very welcoming. It’s a lovely family home, and our hosts have put a lot of effort into making the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Really good breakfasts, lovely room (we loved the view), and of course there is loads to see and do in the surrounding area

Well, where to start. A wonderful warm welcome from Helena on arrival, followed by tea and Bakewell Brownie (which was yummy). The Rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated. The beds really comfy. Fresh milk is supplied for tea/coffee which is a great touch as it never tastes quite the same with UHT milk. They also gave up their beautiful lounge with a woodburner for us to use in the evenings - a very generous touch. As for Breakfast, Helena really goes out of her way to supply a variety each morning. We tried the Derbyshire oatcake with scrambled egg (eggs from Helena's chickens which were amazing). On our second day we had a lovely yoghurt with rhubarb and strawberries which was lovely. We felt thoroughly spoilt. Helena and Simon are amazing hosts and by the time you leave you feel like you are one of the family!! Loved Gnasher the dog too. Myself and my Auntie agreed that this was the best B&B we have ever stayed in. We can't wait to revisit. A huge thank you to you both. Melanie and Maggi.…

We've just spent a fantastic 5 nights at the Old Nursery House and enjoyed every minute. Helena and Simon were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough to accommodate us. The premises is a lovely old house, very tastefully fitted and furnished. We stayed in the Paris room which we loved. The breakfasts were fantastic. Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Matlock and other "must see" Derbyshire attractions are very near but it is also great place to stay if you just want to go cycling or walking in the Peak District. We can't praise Old Nursery House or the owners highly enough and I'm sure we'll be back.
