Great value, great location and a great full English.

Great value, great location and a great full English.
I would like to let everyone know of the excellent experience I have had this weekend at the George Hotel in Tideswell.
I booked our stay back in January, having done a bit of research on the internet as I wanted to combine a walking weekend, along with having a nice base to set off from each day.
I also...

Well located for exploring he Northern part of the Peak district. The room was comfortable and clean ( no soap in bathroom though). The rooms were cold, but the staff tried to rectify this with oil fired heaters. Fantastic breakfast which you order the night before. We ate at the pub, the novelty of the hot stone was different. It...

Had a four night stay during February half term. Very centrally located for walks in the Peak District. Food was great, room was warm and modern. Would stay again. I haven't included any photos as the ones published are just how it is.
Other reviews were very good but we would say the food was adequate.
My wife and I wanted a base to explore the Peak District. All planned a little last minute, but we were very pleased with The George, and could not expect any better from a pub/hotel.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and genuinely tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. At one point, they even opened the kitchen...

The bar serves tasty food and had some great beers on hand pump. I was worried about noise from the music quiz later in the evening -...

My partner and I spent the weekend at the George hotel in January 2012. The room was lovely and the pub itself was warm and cosy. I've been put off pub food in the past but the food here was amazing. We ate their both nights and tried different selections and all was very tasty. The pub is situated in...

My wife and I recently spent two nights at 'The George' which has a welcome feel to it, the minute you walk in. Great cask ales, excellent food, rooms above my expectation for a country pu/hotel and the landlords couldn't have done more to help us. A truely delightful stay and one we will repeat early next year (booked already)....

We stayed for one night at the George Inn, in a group of six. The rooms are of a good size, spotlessly clean, staff pleasant, owner friendly. I am surprised at some of the poor reviews. The price is fairly standard. You are clearly warned of the "lock-up" conditions on their website - conditions which I was told will be...
