We arrived and were greeted by cheerful friendly staff. It’s a pub, not a hotel. The rooms are on the upper floor. We had room 2. It has a four poster bed, is a large room with a large en-suite. The room was spacious overlooks a car park for the adjacent building. So all good so far. It was £80 for the room. There is no cooked breakfast option. They will supply a cold continental that includes a chocolate and a plain croissant, a piece of fruit and tea or coffee. It’s £6.50 per head and is to eaten in the bedroom. We passed on the breakfast. The mattress is unbelievably soft. I didn’t sleep well, nor did my wife. The shower is an electric afterthought and is really not up to standard. It’s a dribble when hot water is asked if it. The bath would also benefit from a handle on the wall nearby to help old geezers get in and out. The TV is massive and worked well. There is a small kettle and the usual tea/ coffee offering. All in all it’s a perfectly good spot for a one night sleepover. For £80 it’s reasonable value for money. I have to say a premier inn would have been the same price and the bed and shower would have been better. For that reason I doubt we will return.…

Stayed with my wife & also my mother. Rooms were clean and cost and it was a perfect base for our weekend of exploring. The bar and restaurant staff were great and we enjoyed our food and drinks there. We popped into the Whitworth Terrace cafe (next door) the next day for breakfast which was ok.

What a great place! Check in wasn’t until 4pm but we were able to leave the car in the car park and come back later. Room was large and beautifully traditional, good sized bathroom and excellent bed. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat there but the menu looked good and was reasonably priced. Nice bar. Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended!

Great find, rooms was amazing value for money and the staff, facilities were spot in. Car parking is limited but at this time of year was no problem. Room was very good with water, teas, coffees etc and very fluffy towels. We had keys so we could come and go as we pleased with access to the main door.

We were visiting the area and were recommended this hotel by a local couple. We were impressed by the food, service and value. The quality of food was amazing, especially for the price we paid. Cannot praise it highly enough and will definitely visit again.

Amazing value for money, lovely comfy bed , very clean. Fantastic range of extras for the price. Food and service in the restaurant absolutely excellent. Loved it and looking forward to returning. To be honest, was worth a lot more than we paid. The extras in the room were so much more than we would have expected from a hotel costing at least twice the price. A lovely stay, thank you

A lovely friendly place. Welcoming with good pub food. The room was pleasant and bed very comfortable. There was a lot of thought for the comfort of the guests and the pub had a cheerful atmosphere. It's ideally located for visiting Haddon and Chatsworth.

Booked really last minute and got great service from them to answer my questions before I booked. Good price compared to what was available elsewhere. Room was lovely, spacious and lots of character features. Bed was uncomfortable though. Food in the restaurant was really nice with great service. No staff on site through the night which was a bit odd and no one there on check out. Enjoyed our stay though.
