When you arrive at a Band B or hotel, one expects to be greeted on arrival. No such thing at this Band B. We were given instructions on a post-it, to find our room. Never saw anyone until the morning at breakfast. Our breakfast order was taken efficiently, but no pleasantries. Felt very awkward and unwelcome. Sorry, do not think... More

We have visited Dunscar 5 or 6 times for our annual reunion and take all the rooms over the Bank Holiday. Found by chance, whilst looking for a new venue, it has proved to be the jem both in terms of the stunning location and the great welcome from Janet and Gary. Gary cooks the breakfast and gives farming input... More

We look for wide rambling spaces, quality food, hospitality and comfort in our holidays, and found all of them at Dunscar Farm. The location is stupendous and competes even with nearby Edale. Janet Glennerster serves an excellent breakfast, with really fresh and tasty fruit and eggs from the chickens you see from the breakfast room window. We slept very quietly... More

This was my fourth stay at Dunscar Farm and definately won't be my last. Home from home. The drive to the farm house is through a field full of sheep and once you reach the farm house we were greated by tiny sock lambs - something I love considering I grew up on a farm and my Nan was a... More

Very, very welcoming B&B - a gem,. Plenty of space, chat, and food - and the freedom to come and go as we pleased. Great location - a home from home. Lovely outdoor space to enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine - and listen to the evening birdcall and lambs.

Janet welcomed us all muddy boots and all into her very comfortable B & B. This is a working sheep farm and to be there when the lambs were being born was wonderful. How Janet and her husband had time and energy to make the house so welcoming and cook such delicious breakfasts I don't know, but it was all... More

Stayed here for 4 nights and were made to feel very welcome. Lovely room with very comfortable bed and plenty of storage. Breakfast was excellent- well cooked and plenty of it. It was good to feel that you could come and go as you please throughout the day.Liked the use of an additional fridge if we needed to store our... More

The wife and I found this place last minute on National Trust website. I can't recommend this place highly enough. First the room was clean and comfortable. There are a few ways of getting into the village (though avoid dirty path when it's wet, it lives up to it's name) where there is a good selection of pubs and eateries.... More

Just back home from a lovely weekend at Dunscar farm. The room was very clean and the complimentary chocolates were a lovely surprise. Footpaths leave from the farm and Castleton village centre is just a short, level walk across the fields. Perfect for a weekend break from city life! Highly recommended, even in the snow!!

My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at Dunscar farm and had a great time. The hotel was great, very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The bathroom and the bedroom were spacious and modern and spotless. Absolutely no complaints. Thank you! Edward.
