The travel lodge is conveniently situated and the staff very helpful but the common problem amongst all the refurbished/ new sites is the bed quality. The mattress is too soft and you spend most of the night trying to escape the middle of the bed, not good.

Great for channel tunnel, but damp smelling and jaded. Friendly enough staff. Mcdonalds, beefeater, burger king, nandos, frankie and bennys all convenient. Free wireless in bar. Not bad but not good. Ideal to stop off briefly on way to France.

Quite basic and dirty in parts, good location though. I stayed after a trip to Alton Towers. Set next to a very nice, good value pub. A walk/short drive away from Ashbourne town centre which is really pretty.

It was a clean hotel but was very very basic. The rooms were very old fashioned and the mattress was awful! No curtains in the room, just blinds so didnt get much sleep as soon as the sun made an appearance. Staff seemed friendly but didnt have much interaction with thwem. Travelled to Ashbourne for a family wedding and booked three rooms at this hotel. Good value for money. Staff friendly. Rooms clean and modern. Excellent pub next door with good food at reasonable prices. Hotel was quiet during our stay.

If you want to try and sleep on a mattress that is as soft as a blamange.......then go ahead....the manager really should sort these out...the receptionist Leanne said they are are the same...shocking. Noisy people shouting and balling in the corridoors...no respect for others...no intervention by any staff. Two phone calls preceding my visit making a request were ignored....by Leanne...poor... More
