Stayed Tuesday,Wednesday nights (15/16/05/2012). Hotel was full. Room was very comfortable and clean with excellent facilities (large shower/bathroom, tea/cofee making, trouser press, iron). Used the kgb offer for a night stay at this hotel. Room was excellent, extremely clean and recently refurbished. Lovely gardens surrounding hotel. Hotel slightly out the way but is relatively close to Cockermouth which we could put up with as the service and food were great!!

Excellent hotel and staff, peaceful location with good views. A point to watch out for is that I booked the room via Venere and the reservation stated breakfast included, on check out a charge was included for breakfast, this was removed when I showed them the booking confirmation; however they said Venere have been told that breakfast is not included.

The Hotel was clean enough It was a Christmas gift from our son and his wife. There was extra money put on our bill for an upgrade we did not request. This was taken off when we complained.
