Ok, on reflection it's basic. No wifi or signal for mobiles. No on site dining except breakfast. Rooms are basic but clean. After a days travel to have to get back in the car and find somewhere to eat was a real pain. After 9 the staff leave so you're on your own until morning. Good hearty breakfast but doesn't... More

From arrival to departure, we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms are of a very high standard, there is a communal lounge and kitchen as well as TV and coffee-making facilities in the bedrooms. The WiFi connection was very good in an area which struggles with signals, so I was able to keep in touch with the world... More

What a wonderful place! A bird lover's paradise, and a complete escape into nature with spectacular views and all the sights and sounds perfect for a peaceful relaxing and rejuvenating break. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and shown to our room (room 6) which had a perfect view of the red kites and the great... More

We have just returned from a brilliant 2 night stay here with friends. We had 3 dogs between us who were very welcome here. The grounds and castle are stunning. With added attractions of the wild heron feeding and owl collection. The rooms were very nice and comfortable for a few nights. Our room was in the annex granary. Only... More

My wife and I have just spent three nights in this wonderful property and can not praise the accomodation and staff highly enough. The previous reviews are statement to this fact. On arrival the receptionist was most helpful in providing any information we requested, we were shown to room 1 on the first floor which was equiped for the disabled... More

A return visit which didn't disappoint. The rooms are warm and comfortable. It's great having access to the superb grounds after all the paying day visitors have gone. So peaceful, and the grounds really ARE fantastic. As a resident, there is free admission into the Owl Sanctuary. Another must, even if birds aren't normally your thing. These owls are really... Building work at the Boot Inn (one of the Pennington Chain of Hotels) was not quite refurbished in time for our visit so it appeared as the whole company did there upmost to sort us alternative accomodation out. We spent an evening at the Coachmans Quarters that sits in amazing grounds and is home to an Owl Santuary that you... More

I stayed in trhe coachmans quarters with my partner and daughter on the 22nd February 2013 for 2 nights. We had the whole area to ourselves and freedom to go into the gardens during our stay. The staff were so friendly and even though we were the only guests, everything was open, cooked breakfast was prepared and there was always... More
