Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights 21/05 & 22/05 it was booked using a KGB deal so wasn't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the barn rooms ( room no 10 ) we had a lovely view across the valley. The only down side for us was the room was a little small... More

Stayed for one night and would not like to have stayed for another. I think the hotel is tired and needs some investment. Room was okay, bed full of springs the bathroom was good but the room itself felt quite old fashioned. Evening meal was very average; really nothing special breakfast was much better with quick service and hot food.... More

I used to saty here regularly in the 1980s and havin returned after so long was so dissapointed. It doesn't look like the place has received any TLC since the 1980s. Rather tired and scruffy and the mould in the bathroom was awful. Also to the waitress who served breakfast, too much flesh dear, and not enough smiling and 'pleased... More

Very disappointing, we were led to believe that was a great place for a break, but the room was pokey and there was a great lack of attention to detail. Place needed a good clean and tidying up. Food was spoilt by large greasy thumb print on plate!

This is our second stay in this hotel and it will be our last. On our first visit last year we thought the room was basic but clean - none of the usual things you would find in a hotel room - a chair, hairdryer a wardrobe that closed etc etc. but we were supporting our favorite charity and meeting... First time visit to this area with friends. Found the hotel to be located in a beautiful part of Cumbria amidst breath taking scenery. Found Dave and the rest of the staff (although limited in number) very friendly and efficient, even lit a fire by request of my wife whilst serving meals. We shall be back later in the year.

Recently stayed in a garden room which was very disappointing. I can honestly say it was the worst room I have ever stayed in. Very cold and uninviting. The Managers were not very friendly and didnt interact much with the guests which is odd considering the business. The bar and reception was often unmanned which suggests there are not enough... Enjoyed our annual visit to the above to support a fantastic charity!!! The staff as always were friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable though the bed was a little soft for our liking. Breakfast was plentiful and the evening meals we had were very good. The setting is quite spectacular and is one of its main... More

Stayed for two nights as we have done in previous years. Room was clean and although the beds were softer than we are used to they were comfortable. A well stocked hospitality tray which was replenished fully for the second day. The evening meals were very good and could not be faulted. For breakfast there was a good selection of... More
