Stayed for one night and would not like to have stayed for another. I think the hotel is tired and needs some investment. I used to saty here regularly in the 1980s and havin returned after so long was so dissapointed. It doesn't look like the place has received any TLC since the 1980s. Very disappointing, we were led to believe that was a great place for a break, but the room was pokey and there was a great lack of attention to detail. Place needed a good clean and tidying up. Food was spoilt by large greasy thumb print on plate!

First time visit to this area with friends. Found the hotel to be located in a beautiful part of Cumbria amidst breath taking scenery. Found Dave and the rest of the staff (although limited in number) very friendly and efficient, even lit a fire by request of my wife whilst serving meals. We shall be back later in the year.

Recently stayed in a garden room which was very disappointing. I can honestly say it was the worst room I have ever stayed in. Very cold and uninviting.
