This is a little gem: it is comfortable, welcoming and very relaxing. The rooms are variable but they are comfortable. If you want to feel looked after and welcome, stay at Aynsome Manor.

Stayed for 1 night over the May day bank holiday weekend. A really nice welcome with the receptionist showing us to our room. It had little in the way of a view but was clean and comfortable. The evening meal was very good as was breakfast. The hotel is a little way out of Cartmel if you wanted to eat...

Had heard from friends this hotel was a bit 'tired' but far from it. Obviously it has all been done up and the decoration was very fresh. Bedrooms were well equipped, although the beds all seemed to be a standard double not kingsize.
Dining room was very elegant and we had a delicious dinner and very good breakfast.
The public...

We decided to get away for the weekend after having a very busy two months on the farm with lambing and calving .My husband is pretty fussy when it comes to staying away from home but from the moment we arrived it was a home from home the atmosphere is so relaxed you want to get your slippers on but...

The Hotel is about a mile outside Cartmel. On a very quiet road with generous size rooms.Spotlessly clean. Some rooms have no or limited views but if you are only staying overnight not an issue. Lounge on first floor is ideal for afternoon tea - if weather is not suitable for sitting outside. Decor is genteel English but fits in...

Our hosts were so welcoming and obliging... it just felt as if we was staying at my Aunties! We only ate in the restaurant on the second night... much to...

We stayed for a couple of nights and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we found the service and general experience to be second to none.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was firm but comfortable and a good night's sleep ensued. We did not have a shower but the bath was huge and...

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome, the house is a step back in time,...

Extremely friendly owner and staff, well matched with a brilliant cook and comfortable rooms. If you visit, be sure to sample the evening meal, ours was superb. Lovely setting, with new born lambs gamboling about in the fields outside.
Having stayed here on several previous occasions I knew our break would be wonderful. I can only say that it was even better than I remember. The food was amazing, the room was lovely, the fellow guests charming and the owners Chris and Andrea along with Ben and Antonia were, as always, the nicest, kindest people you could hope to...
