Sunday lunch needs to be booked, for an excellent meal served by very friendly welcoming staff this place would be difficult if not impossible to match let alone beat. Drinks are not the usual rip off either, all in all I cannot fault the place on anything.

I came back to see where I use to work during school holidays and it was like stepping back in time, nothing had changed, apart from staff. the decorations were still the same. Food was plentiful and excellent. It is full of regular eaters and the sunday lunch is worth noting.

While driving home after spending the night in the lakes we came across this Inn. The Inn was very busy and we just managed to get a table for two. had a great stay at the white mare, lovely room great location.Food exellent (breakfast plentyful) choice of food good and served hot.Host Phil was always cheerful and couldnt do enough for you and all other staff working there also exellant.Room was clean and comfy xxxxxxxxx will be returning again xxxxxxxxxxxxx

The rough being the wild and beautiful countryside all around, we found this wee gem using laterooms.com on our tour of the uk, lovely staff, very friendly , compliments to the chef for the morning breakfast, wonderful, set us up well for the rest of our journey xx
