Visited the Alston House while walking the Pennine Way. It is close to the trail, not even 1/4 mile from it. Room was very good. Restaurant was even better, although very busy (which of course is mostly a good sign for quality). Staff is friendly and hardworking for its customers.

A wonderful welcome from all the staff at the hotel. Service, rooms, food and facilities all were of top quality and the welcome was marvellous. This hotel is highly recommended.

I stayed for five nights in Room 2 while exploring the area. Comfortable bed and pleasant views of the garden. Michael, Carole and their staff provided particularly friendly and efficient service. Excellent breakfast. Good dinners in the restaurant too. The hotel is a very good base for walks.

Had a lovely dinner after a hectic day. Staff had a christening party on but we were still treated so well. Thank you girls . Food was good wholesome and so very reasonnable
