Fantastic....very unexpected lovely hostel. Very clean, tidy and brilliant lounge with maps and ideas for things to do. Great drying room and bike storage. Staff were just lovely, reception and breakfast chef. Breakfast was just perfect. Really rate this hostel. FAB!!!

As you walk the Way into Alston, step up a few steps and you are at the YHA. Clean, tidy with self catering kitchen and a place to make hot drinks. Great breakfast and facilities. Very good value for money.

Stayed for one night while doing the Pennine Way, and I've never been so pleased to arrive at a hostel in my life. Despite the large group of cyclists booked in, we more or less had the kitchen and dining area to ourselves. Directly at the river end of the Pennine way . Good hostel, bunkbedded. Comfie Sofas. Good kitchen facilities including coffee maker. Good local real ale pub and excellent "Moody Baker".
