6 of us stayed here on our second night of cycling the c2c, it was the best accommodation of the trip, comfy beds, lovely room, very clean. Good cooked breakfast, good evening meal and reasonably priced.

We stayed at the Miners Arms whilst undertaking the C2C cycle challenge from Whitehaven to Sunderland. The newly refurbished 'bunkhouse' is fantastic. En suite facilities, very clean, beds very comfortable and also secure places to store your bikes. The food in the pub is absolute quality and reasonably priced, we can recommend the mixed grill! The coal fed stove in...

We stayed for 1 night while riding the c2c. The Inn is right on the route and in an ideal location to stop. The room was much better than expected, the breakfast cooked for us out our time of choosing and dinner home cooked with a great selection. There is also a large playground straight opposite.
What made the Miner's...

Stayed at the miner's arms for a very welcome nights rest on the c 2 c cycle route. Had a very friendly welcome from Alison who works incredibly hard to provide great hospitality on this famous route. Our newly converted room was very comfortable and spotless with excellent bathroom and great shower. Our evening meal was enjoyable with an excellent...

This pub is in a convenient location as there isn't a great deal of accommodation nearby. Room I stayed in was not en-suite but had a TV. It was clean and of a good standard, and the same could be said of the bathroom. Rooms are cheap and represent good value for money.
Without doubt, some of the highest standard B&B accommodation I have ever had the pleasure to stay in! We visited as a mid-way stop on the Coast to Coast cycle route and were very pleasantly surprised.
From the outside the pub looks like your standard old fashioned village inn and the accommodation is situated at the side. Comprising two rooms...

The rooms at this pub are of a standard you find in a five star hotel, fittings and furniture topnotch.out of season so do not expect full menu ,what we had was ok and reasonable priced. I have to point out that The Miners Arms is 4-5 miles from Alston. We both enjoyed our sat night stay, would stop again.Note if in the...

The two rooms are in a converted garage to the side of the pub. A really good job has been made of them, with generous size and well equipped bathrooms. Flat screen tv, coffee making facilities etc were very good and the overall standard was very high.
We ate in the pub and the food was quite good. The local...

Although we didn't stay overnight we stopped off for lunch having been attracted by the prospect of Allison's "award winning" pie. I had a pint of the real ale IPA which was fine, my wife a glass of wine also acceptable. At half 12 were the only ones in the place, the conservatory dining area was hot and stuffy, we...

We stayed one night here en route south. We booked after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and loved this accommodation. Alison has completely refurbished her two rooms and our's was spacious, clean, modern and extremely comfortable on a cold grey wet night. The walk in shower was excellent, heating very good too. These are rooms attached to the village pub and...
