Spotless bedrooms. Comfortable beds. Delicious food served all day and evening. You can even get breakfast up to 11 am, and 12 on Sundays. Friendly staff. Good choice of ales and wines. Open fires. Newspapers. Sloping floors. Popular with local residents [Always a good sign]. Go there and relax. More

Great place to stay, welcoming without being overbearing. Very friendly staff - nothing too much hassle for them. Room's were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great in the morning. More

EXCELLENT 5 stars from me! I'm not so good at writing reviews so I'll keep this short. I agree with all of the other fantastic reviews - everything about this place when I visited a couple of times was perfect. Staff, rooms, cleanliness, wonderful food. Everyone so welcoming and polite. Definitely recommended from me!! More

I have been going to The Swan for over 20 years (both as a Guest and a Diner) but in recent months, price increases have crept in, along with smaller portion sizes which I find to be unacceptable. Taking into consideration the current economic climate, I would have thought establishments such as this would want to satisfy their long-standing customers. More

It's all too easy to write a review only when dissatisfied. Well, we stayed at the Swan in October for a couple of nights when visiting a relative. The reason we stayed there was that it was race weekend in Chester and all of the city hotels were having it off with regard to price. The Swan had a good... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding which took place in the hotel itself (in the Hunt Room which was gorgeous - filled with atmospheric paintings and a lovely green colour). Our room had a wooden four poster bed which was very comfy. It was a Little chilly from the draft from the windows but... More
