We had not eaten here for 12 months or more, used use more often. We thought we would go for lunch and take my 87 year old mother, as the menu looked fairly traditional and so would be suitable. Service prior to going to the table was poor, lack of communication between staff, which meant we wee left sitting in... More

*Ordered a bottle of wine, it was corked, waiter took it away, returned with an open bottle, when we tried it , it was the same bottle - on telling the waiter he told us there was no more of that wine !! *Daughter celebrating with a friend, a waiter accidentally knocked over their bottle of champagne, apologised but the... We used to visit the hotel in the late 60's and early 70's, until we moved 60 miles away. A bit too far to drink and drive! However, we decided to stay here for my birthday and to eat in the restaurant--reviewed separately. The hotel has built rooms and facilities since we last came here. Looking at the rooms online,... Reviewing restaurant only. Taken by friends and immediately impressed by the welcome, good service and ambience. Great food, lovely music from pianist and singer (who were happy to do requests). Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their evening out. We'll be back!

Reviewing the restaurant only. Having read the last review I was slightly concerned that it would be a case of getting what you pay for but not at all. The dinner offer of a 3 course meal for 2 with a bottle of house wine for £30 was absolutely excellent. Almost every point raised in the last review regarding service... More

Reviewing restaurant only. Took advantage of the special offer of dinner for two at £15 each including a bottle of wine. Excellent value, the wine was good, as was the food although owing a little more to top end Pub food than fine dining. The bit that grated was the charmless service. No offer to take coats, so hung over... More

Our party of four dined at the restaurant on a Monday evening. The room was full and deservedly so. Service was friendly and efficient, food excellent and the value for money tremendous. This restaurant is 'silver service' which makes the evening more of an occasion. We will definitely go back.

We were in luck the last table on a Tuesday night and boy were we lucky. The deal was a 3 course meal with wine for £30. The food was lovely from starters to dessert. The service was great everyone had a job and did it well. We did not stay in the hotel so can not comment on the... More

I have dined at this Restaurant over many years and meals have varied from excellent to mediocre, dependant on the staff that have been there at the time. The hotel and restaurant have been in the same family for many years and I am somewhat surprised, and am sure they will be disappointed, to have read some of the recent... More

I, and my sister have just arrived back from having the three course lunchtime Christmas meal at the Bridge. We enjoyed the meal so much that I felt that I should inform other readers on Trip Advisor. The service was excellent, the meal was nicely displayed and the cooked part was tasty and hot. The vegetables were cooked just right.... More
