Alveston Hall was a typical Warner hotel with plenty of facilities and space. There are plenty of senior citizens and not too many under 50. What a delight to be able to use the pool and spa without screaming children and parents who prefer to ignore the fact they are responsible for their children. The food is fine however the... more

Have just returned from a weekend at Alvaston Hall. We stayed in a chalet room which was clean, well decorated, with large bathroom and powerful shower. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The entertainment staff did their utmost to ensure that everyone had a good time, and all the guests we spoke to were enjoying themselves too.Our party consisted myself... more

First of all, please ignore any negative reviews you may have previously read - my weekend break was fantastic! Every single member of staff was friendly, polite and helpful, from reception staff to waiters, to cleaners and leisure centre staff. Facilities, activities, entertainment and food were all excellent. I was apprehensive after reading the reviews on here, especially about the... more

If we had taken any notice of the reviews for Alvaston Hall we probably would not have gone, however we were very pleasantly surprised. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. The evening meals were delicious, with lots of choice, all hot and freshly served; starter, main meal, dessert, cheese and biscuits, coffee and mints, excellent value for money. The bar and... more

We use the leisure centre here regularly and must say that it is like going back to the seventies. The pool is nice, but they take every opportunity to lower the temperature, so it can be chilly, especially for elderly people, who make up most of the clientele. The men's changing rooms were unbelievably shoddy - they have been refurbished,... more

Having just returned from a weekend break at Alveston hall ( a girlie break - we are all in our fifties!) and read the reviews on trip advisor, we were pleasantly surprised to find that none of the negative comments matched up! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the staff, food, accommodation and entertainment were all excellent and would consider... more

Stayed at this hotel last week with my wife for 4 nights. Just sent our son packing to university and took the chance to get away. Our main holiday is always a cruise and I had heard that Warner hotels were like cruising on land so decided to book a holiday at Alvaston Hall and give it a try. Must... more

We had booked a 2 night stay in a Royale room at a cost of approach £450 or an anniversary celebration so were looking forward to a couple of days of pampered luxury. We were just driving into the car park at this hotel and the alarm bells started ringing as the lawns were swarming with a clientele who's average... more

After booking our first ever coach holiday to this hotel and then looking at the reviews we did not know what to expect. On arrival we were met on our coach by a receptionist who handed out arrival packs with keys etc rather than have to register in the reception area. We were in our rooms within 5 minutes of... more
