This B&B is set in a perfect location close to Alton Towners and the location is very charming. However the guest house is very dated, dirty and in need of some TLC and updating. The moment you enter the main doors you can smell cat urine followed by stained carpets leading to your room. The beds are comfortable but the room needs a deep clean and dust. The bathroom was ok but again plenty of areas of improvement needed such as a new shower head, towels and matts as they are very rough to the touch and old. The breakfast was very disappointing as very cold and cheap ingredients used. The coffee was very weak and cereal containers dusty and old. If your lookinging for a cheap place to just put your head down for the night this hotel will do. I could imagined it being beautiful back in the day and driven by customer service and standards but feels like the owners have given up. I felt as tho I was just staying in a room in their house for the night rather than feeling like a guest at a B&B. They are welcoming but I didn't feel any passion or desire to make the stay special or memorable.

My family stayed here for the night for a family wedding nr by. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived early but we received a friendly welcome after short journey from Liverpool. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast next morning was lovely. I would highly recommend this place especially if you are going to Alton towers!

We recently visited Alton Towers as a family of 4 and stayed here after a full day at the park! We were welcomed into the B&B by Robert and taken to a large family room which was very comfortable. The decor was a bit tired but the room was clean and we all had a very good night's sleep! The breakfast was superb and cooked by Pamela and we were even introduced to their dog which the kids absolutely loved! They have a number of pets but we are pet lovers so this was no issue for us! The hosts were great and we felt very comfortable being part of the family home, they even allowed me to charge my hybrid car from their garage which was great for the next day going back to Alton Towers! It was a great stay, very good value and about 15 minutes from Alton Tower so a bonus! Would definitely stay there again and thank you to Robert and Pamela!

We were looking for somewhere close to Alton Towers and in decent traffic this was only about 15 minutes away. We stayed three nights, a good size room with en-suite bathroom, double bed and two singles (we all slept very well). The breakfast was cooked to order and lovely. Exactly what we were looking for. It is fair to say however that the stay was made perfect by the proprietors who could not have made us more welcome. We would highly recommend this B&B and definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Try and leave for Alton Towers early. 9:45 grid lock, 09:00 strait there.

A very warm welcome when we arrived from a day at Alton Towers. The room was a good size, 1 double and 2 single beds. Spacious bathroom and plenty of hot water. Beautiful countryside views from the property definitely worth having a wander. Breakfast was cooked to order and tasted superb...recommend the Staffordshire Oat Cake! Lovely quirky property with very nice owners. Highly recommended!

We booked into the Abbots Haye Guest house in Cheadle for one night, whilst I understood it was an old building, I was not prepared for what met us, as soon as you walked through the front door there was an overpowering distinctive smell of cats, the room was not much better, the net curtains were filthy, Ceiling plaster was coming away in the bathroom, the shower was leaking cold water from I think inside the shower box when being used which cannot be safe one light bulb in a high ceiling again was not sufficient to light the room size, the double bed mattress was well beyond its use by date and the toilet seat did not fit correctly . All of this we could have lived with but not how cold and damp the room and beds were. One radiator with a shelf over it was totally insufficient to heat the size of the room. My wife is 74 and suffers from chest infections so there was no decision to be made we could not stop in a freezing damp room we had to leave the BB and drive home. I explained to the owners we could not stop in the room conditions her response was its an old building and the room has a radiator incidentally they had a very big open fire heating down stairs to an acceptable temperature, and took payment less £10 compensation which I had to ask for, our night was totally ruined as we had to leave the party early and drive 90 miles home the same night.

Arrived on a wet day and on entering the place it smelt overwhelmingly of wet dog. Imediately full of trepidation however room was bright and pretty clean with a lovely view. Breakfast was good and owners friendly, next day in the heat no dog smell at all in the main house. Only improvements needed were a new matress and for sure new towels as they could of been used to sand down wood. Bed frame needed a vacuum too around the slats. Overall quite happy and would stay again

Me my girlfriend and our 3 boys (aged 6,7 & 10) stayed here for a weekend trip to Alton Towers. Firstly the location to alton Towers is superb, 4 miles or about 10 mins drive. The guest house is very clean. We stayed in one of their family rooms which slept 5 of us (one double, one bunk and a single bed). The room had a lovely clean en suite. The couple who owns the guest house couldn't have been more warming and friendly. Couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The house is situated in such a quiet spot, with beautiful big gardens. The price was great value, which included breakfast for us all in the morning. The full English was absolutely lovely, and was all cooked to order exactly how we wanted it. Unlimited amount of tea and coffee and juice. All round an amazing little place to get away, with either a family or a couple. Cannot recommend highly enough.
