Stayed here December 2004. Clean, good shower, Mexican decor. El Fuerte is small, quiet and charming. Train to the Copper Canyon departed from El Fuerte at 9.00am - later than posted in the schedule. It arrived at Divisadero at 4pm (delayed at the mid-point waiting for the westbound train). more

This place is fabulous...a 400 yr. old spanish fort that has been restored...it is charming, service is excellent and the food is wonderful...didn't want to leave the lush foilage and captivating architecture of this place...very convenient to local cultural shopping ...was able to walk to most tourist sites...just fabulous. more
