Traveling alone in Mexico for an older senior woman is not always the best idea--except for this town and this hotel! The hotel is small and every corner of it is an opportunity for a lovely picture. Rooms are clean, spacious and have mini-kitchens so you can make yourself right at home. Your host, Juan Castillo speaks great English and... More

Casa de Maria Felix changed management in September of last year and the new managers are working hard to make this as relaxing and attractive as it can possibly be. We have lived at the Casa for more than 4 years and our experience has just gotten better over time. The hotel "family" are lovely, warm and very helpful. In... More

This was a lovely place run by a knowledgable local who is doing his best to make this a perfect location to stay. The swimming pool is in a lovely setting, there are nice restaurants nearby and we enjoyed our time here.

I am presently nearing the end of my 2nd week at Casa de Maria Felix - THIS time - and am in no hurry to leave! This is my 2nd visit this year. I discovered this place in Jan., 2002, before it even opened for business, & was quite taken with it then. I was travelling in my VW "Westie"... More

I had a couple of wonderful evenings at the Hotel Casa de Maria Felix. The hotel is quirky and that is part of its charm. The rooms are lovely, beautifully furnished, and elegant. The owner, Lynda, treated us like special guests in her home. We had lovely evening meals and wonderful music. I was traveling with a small group of... More

Like techgrrl from last year our arrival at Casa de Maria Felix seemed unexpected. We arrived to find the property dark, locked, and only repeated pounding on two doors brought attention. The owner was drunk and seemingly unaware we were coming. She also had several large dogs that were constantly barking and jumping on us. Walking around the grounds required... More

I want to apologize to my guests...I had no intention to offend them. However, on March 16 2008 Earl, my husband of 25 years was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and died March 31, 2008. Again I apologize and only hope they will understand my distress that night. Thank you, Sincerely Lynda de Rohan Barondes, Owner More

Casa de Maria Felix turned out to be a bit down at the heels with a big "For Sale" sign out front. I had booked a casita with 2 beds and a kitchen by telephone. We arrived about 6pm, just before dark. The place looked deserted and a neighbour told us that the owner wasn't home. We knocked anyway and... More

When the owner of the Casa de Maria Felix inadvertently double-booked the small room we had reserved with her before leaving for Mexico, she upgraded us to a better room. Our room, the grounds of the hotel, and the owner are all lovely. We had a wonderful stay in Alamos; I'd recommend this small hotel to anyone.
