We have stayed at the Gillespie on a couple of special occasions. Lori and David have been gracious, friendly hosts and the rooms are very well done with a combination of late 1800's antiques and modern conveniences. Its a excellent place for a stay of several days as there is lots to see and do in the area, with the... More

The Gillespie Inn was our first accommodation in Nova Scotia. And, unfortunately, I think it spoiled us for the rest of the trip! Certainly, it was one of my 'Top Three' places to stay. Among its plus-points, I must enumerate the beautiful rooms and our great hosts: The beds were very comfortable and the linens the nicest I have seen... More

We recently spent a night in this lovely inn while traveling from Annapolis Royal to New Brunswick. It was a long trip along the coastal road & after getting lost in a couple of towns along the way, we were certainly pleased to reach our destination & meet Laurie, who was so welcoming. While Parrsboro probably isn't high on most... More

We stayed here based on Trip Advisor reviews....and I'm most glad we did! The place is beautiful and comfortable. I really enjoyed the old claw-foot tub in the room! We had wine and cheese with our friends on the veranda with some great "dragon's breath' blue cheese that we bought at the "That Dutchman's Farm" cheese place which was on... More

This older charming home is reappointed with all of the comforts required. It is handy to all of the attractions in the area. Laurie the owner and onsite proprietor is quite knowledgeable and current regarding restaurants, and services available. The beds, linen, towels, and available toiletries are comfortable and well provided. There is a lovely breakfast provided each morning with... More

We stayed in Parrsboro because we wanted to go to Advocate Harbour and Joggins the next day. We found Gillespie House in the TripAdvisor reviews and thought it would be a nice place to stay for the night. The town of Parrsboro is quite small and the restaurant selection was quite sparse. But we did manage to get our laundry... More

The Gillespie House Inn in Parrsboro is a delightful place, filled with beautiful rooms, lovely gardens, a loving labrador and friendly, warm hosts David and Lori. Every little touch made the room comfortable and inviting. Wonderful breakfast and lots of helpful advice and recommendations. Well worth the drive to this gorgeous part of Nova Scotia. We will definitely return. More

I informed the owners that I had Coeliac's Disease weeks before I arrived and required a gluten free breakfast and they provided nothing! I had fruit and coffee whilst everyone else had muffins, pancakes, granola, bread, cereals etc. They told me the local shops did not carry gluten free items! Gluten free items are widely available in Nova Scotia in... More

We were greeted by Diane who was very helpful and showed us around the property which had a choice of lounges for visitor use. Our room was very nice, clean and spacious. Breakfast was partly self serve (granola, yogurt, toast, muffins) and also a choice of hot breakfast - we had blueberry pancakes and maple syrup (the real stuff!). It... More

This is a b&b for even non-b&b people. Upscale and nicely appointed rooms within a large historic home that has been thoroughly modernized. The innkeepers are helpful with suggestions but non-intrusive. Great way to start our honeymoon. The inn has beautiful grounds and is walking distance to downtown Parrsboro. Driving to other more remote sites (Chignecto Park, Advocate Harbor, Cape... More
