The hotel is well run, feels a little impersonal. Much bigger than other hotels in Smithers, feels more like a chain hotel. Rooms are average size, darker carpet and furnishings make the rooms feel dark, chintzy bedspread. Bed was comfy, rooms clean, feels comfortable, no probs there, happy to stay anytime. Weak wifi. Great restaurant downstairs boosts this hotel as... More

Older established hotel with updating to a comfortable level. Front desk staff very responsive, efficient and accommodating. Comfortable beds and very clean with a good restaurant available and accessible business area . You can't beat the view of the mountains Too bad they dont have aeroplan points

We stayed at Hudson Bay Lodge recently after flying out from a long season at a remote fishing lodge on the Sustut River. The company kindly put us up at Hudson Bay Lodge.....and thank god they did! While we were having our post season dinner staff party, I left my darling little dog in the hotel room with her best... More

I stay here when I'm in Smithers for work. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I like that there are comforters on the beds. The WiFi was working well the last time I was there, and I've always found it easy to get breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel is easy to find and access to off the highway.

We stayed here two nights 10 days apart. The rooms was clean, quiet and large. There was a real shortage of plug ins, though. This can be inconvenient when you need to charge laptop, phones, etc. The staff was helpful. The price was reasonable at $100 per night. This stay was a jumping off and returning back place for a... Steps away from gorgeous mountain vistas, yet still right on the major highway to the airport and neighbouring communities. The staff is very warm and friendly and are pretty good at remembering individual guests. The rooms are spacious, if a little dated furniture wise. The restaurant/lounge serves great tasty dishes. The fitness area is in the basement, and was closed... More

We connect to northern flights through Smithers. Unfortunately, the weather kept ours on the ground recently with a forced stay overnight. Hudson's Bay staff were great from the moment we called at the airport for the shuttle to come and get us until we checked out the next day. Check in: The ladies were so friendly and helpful and made... More

Stayed at the Hudson Bay overnight on business. Looks like some recent renovations to the rooms. Comfortable and for the most part clean, not fancy, no mini fridge and no A/C but perhaps it doesn't get warm enough to be needed. Lots of drywall dust on the coat rack behind the door where the extra pillow and linen were as... More

This was overall a good experience although the service in the bar eating area was close to awful, amongst the worst on an eight week trip. Rather eat in the main restaurant area where the service was better, albeit marginally so.

We stayed two nights in this pleasant hotel. Our room, spirit of the north, was perhaps the nicest in the hotel, and was quite large and lovely. Room was immaculately clean, bed confortable. Breakfast was quite good. Hotel staff informative and helpful. Although distances in BC are large, Smithers is a nicely located base to visit First Nation villages, see... More
