I usually prefer staying in hotels and enjoying all the amenities of these. But the reviews for this motel were so outstanding we thought we'd try it. It was fabulous. Updated furniture, comfortable mattress, beautiful location near the river and very pleasant service. All in all a great choice!

A lovely English couple bought this property several years ago and are pouring them selves into upgrading it. The rooms are well-appointed and clean, and the owners are happy to help with whatever requests you might have. The rooms back onto a babbling creek, which is lovely. Great value for the money!

This is a lovely, friendly place to stay. The owners make you feel especially welcome, and the pool is very welcome after hot days experiencing the area. I will be back.

For years we have drove through Grand Forks but have always been intrigued by Johnny's, we spent 3 days in July 2011 and it certainly did not disappoint. What else could you ask for, the service was outstanding, not pretentious at all, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, and the backside walked out to the river. Very good stay.
