Linda the inn manager was friendly on arrival. The gentleman who helped with breakfast always looked perturbed and put out. Breakfast was lacking. Room was very small and hot. Fan in room did not work. Location was excellant. I went the week after Christmas. More

We spent one night in the "Summer Kitchen" which you can get to either by coming through the backyard from the side street, or by coming through the main house, outside, and down a flight of stairs. There was a king sized bed which was surprisingly comfortable. At home we have a Tempurpedic and so I usually don't sleep well... More

The best thing about this inn is it is literally in the heart of Old Salem. You are across the street from the Salem Tavern and can tour Old Salem without ever having to get in your car. The Inn itself is what I would call rustic, not charming. It is furnished in the colonial style of the time of... More

Two friends and I went to the Zevely Inn for a "Girl's Trip" and couldn't have had better accommodations. Three adjacent rooms were unavailable when I called for reservations, but with the patient assistance of the owner, we came up with a plan that worked wonderfully. Two stayed in the two-bedroom Winter Kitchen Suite and one on the second floor.... More

Last weekend we experienced a wonderful weekend at the AZ Inn. Linda the Innkeeper couldn't have been nicer. This is a B&B in the center of historic Old Salem, while the building is old the furnishings are excellent. Outstanding service and excellent breakfast made this a weekend to remember. Will definitely stay here again. More

We stayed on Saturday night, so we got to enjoy the full breakfast. Wonderful! Our third floor room was a bit of a climb but worth the effort. Innkeeper Linda was most helpful and friendly. The location cannot be beat. Right in the middle of Old Salem. Easy walking to dinner (Willow's Bistro was superb), the Salem Creek Greenway, and... More

We don't like hotels...we like B&B's...and we LOVE historic house B&B's! The older, the better! We adore the ambiance and atmosphere of age...a creaky floorboard or stairstep is to be expected and embraced as part of that historic character! So if you are of similar mind, the Zevely Inn is the only place to consider staying in Winston-Salem. The location... More

This isn't going to be the sort of place which everyone takes to. The pros are that it is a lovely old building and a great location in Old Salem - right opposite the Salem Tavern which had great food; definitely eat there - very quiet and our room (on the top, attic floor) had a comfortable (if small!) bed.... This place is very old and not very clean. The air unit makes a lot of noise and the whole place creaks. Also the walls are very thin, could hear far too much of what was going on in other rooms. My wife and me did a tour of the south and stayed in a number of Southern B&B's and... More

We expected the usual lovely B&B experience with a welcoming hostess and nice breakfast. Here's what we got: Absent hostess -she came out to take our money and disappeared, no offer of infomation on anything, and a breakfast that is only surpassed by fast food chains - serve yourself with rancid OJ. Exterior was dirty and surprisingly ill kept including... More
