Not four stars. Not three stars. Actually if a family is traveling with children and needs to cook in their room this is the correct place. A small kitchen, a small bath and a small bed room make up a suite. Not very well appointed even if there are cutesy pictures on the walls. And the surly nature of the... more

The Wilmingtonian is a classic example of an owner who lives out of town. The property is in a state of disrepair. I relied on their website to choose my accomodations for my extended weekend. While shopping and visiting galleries and beautiful historic downtown Wilmingon, I found that the locals know "very well" that the Wilmingtonian is in need of... more

My company sent me to Wilmington on business. The Wilmingtonian was perfect because it's a perfect mixture of country inn and hotel. You're right downtown so you can get to everything you need in walking distance, but you don't have tourists crowding you out. Most of the buildings (all but the Clarendon House) face a lovely courtyard including a rock... more

Understand when reading this that I have never given a hotel a bad review before; but the Wilmingtonian was so dissappointing that I had too. The airconditioning was poor and left me sleeping in a warm, damp room. The quality of the rooms is below average, and the free breakfast was made up of a bowl of bananas and a... more

I stayed at the The Wilmingtonian while travelling on business. I did like it in many ways. The suite room was nice, decorated well with a kitchen included. The staff was nice enough. For my purposes, it was fine. The only drawback is that it was a bit loud at night. There seems to be a bit of street noise,... more

I have stayed at the Wilmingtonian before and love each visit. It is so comfy that I feel that I am on vacation even though I am traveling on business. The staff is friendly. The rooms are neat and clean. I love that you can walk to the water. I love the decor of each room. The beds are great!... more

Every bit of our experience at the Wilmingtonian was superb! We were greeted by two incredibly friendly and helpful staff members upon arrival, thoroughly enjoyed our one bedroom suite in a historic building, loved rocking in the chairs on the balcony and had a fantastic breakfast. This hotel is centrally located in historic downtown and walking distance to many attractions.... more

Horrible. I actually didnt bother to book a room after speaking with their reservation line. They said they charge an extra $10 per person in the room. I told them the only other person in the room would be our 8-MONTH old infant. If you can believe this, they said I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA $10 a night... more

Saw the other reviews and have always trusted TripAdvisor travelers. The greeting we received from David (at the front desk) was warm and friendly. The room (Santa Fe Suite) was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The wide plank hardwood floor really added to the ambiance. The buildings are all worthy of a photo and the location was nice as well. My... more

We have traveled extensively and this is by far the worst breakfast we have encounter. The breakfast is better at very inexpensive motels. Housekeeping was untimely; normally late in the afternoon. Parking was inadequate meaning they have more guests than spaces. You are forced to park in paid parking and then you have to pay $5 to park. On weekends... more
