The accommodation was part of a 3 day Autumn Photography tour and I stayed in the Middle Cottage. The cottage is large, very clean and comfortable with a spa, reverse cycle air conditioning and wood burning heater. Situated next to the Ovens river and a short walk along the river path to the town centre, the Tudor house and cottages... More

We stayed here during a spell of great Autumn weather in May. We were only able to get 3 days due to our late decision to have a short break. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer as we loved it. We stayed in Middle Cottage and found it clean and comfortable and very good value. The garden setting and... More

We stayed in the Lynchgate ground floor apartment for 2 nights during January. The apartment itself was comfortable and very clean with all amenities needed, with the spa bath an added bonus. The gardens are just lovely to sit in and enjoy a drink or a meal at the outside table with the huge trees overhead and numerous bird-life joining... More

Enjoyed our stay at these cottages. Lovely English garden setting, close to the river and about a ten minute stroll along the Ovens River into town. Nice big spa and combustion heater which was lovely during the chilly nights. Would have been good to have an oven to cook in but all in all lovely little place to stay.

We booked the Merrimeet "Middle" Cottage for a romantic winter escape and were surpised by the value for money. It was comfortable - CLEAN and cozy. For nearly the same price as a cabin we were expecting a lot less and didnt know what to expect as there are not many photos available of the middle cottage. We were greated... More

We escaped to Bright for a winter break. We arrived to a wrm welcome by our host. MHD had already set up the heater for us so we could settle into a cosy cottage. After a pleasant discussion, we were informed of places to see and places to eat. The cottages are well located within easy walking distance from Bright's... More

We were very pleased with the location and the features of the Lychgate Cottage. The gardens are a pleasure to walk through and are most attractive at this time of year (we had three nights there during Autumn in April). One has a small walk from the rather "tight" car park to the Apartments (one has to be careful when... More

The cottage we stayed in was pleasant and comfortable, not sure that I would rate it 4* though. The cottages are close together with one cottage having a balcony which overlooks the river, the other cottages do not have views from the balcony. Having said that you couldn't hear other people around. The owners were very helpful and willing to... More

My partner and I enjoyed our time at Merrimeet which is in a great location, so close to the river. Access to the river is just through the garden and you are just a short stroll from the main street. The cottages are not stand alone and the two river front cottages are next to each other and share a... More

We really enjoyed our weekend at Merrimeet. The garden setting is superb, and the rooms are beautifully decorated and with a very comfortable bed. The fresh flowers in the bedroom were a lovely touch. Access to the river is easy with just a walk through the front garden to join the Canyon Walk. We even went fishing. Our only regret... More
