Well, it's a long time since I've had such good value for $180-unfortunately it was not whilst staying at the Irukandji resort but upon my return home and reading the reviews. I laughed myself senseless-didn't realize there were so many funny people that have stayed there- should get us all together for a weekend reunion there and we might have... more

We booked over the net - 3 nights. Rates comparitive to Yeppoon Accommodation. Rooms small and dated - alot of water on the floors from the air conditioner condensation (dangerous). Had a musty smell in the room obviously from the damp floors. Bathroom not clean. I took my son and his partner for dinner at the Billabong Restaurant...It was early... more

Stayed there for a one night stopover on our way to Cairns. It was a Tuesday during the off season so the resort was very quiet. Pros: Facilities galore - fantastic pool Location - proximity to beach View - Ocean view from top floor resort suite was amazing Service - The service we received from check-in, resort shop and pool... more

This was our forth trip back to the resort and I would say our most disappointing. We have two young children (1 & 3) and normally book a kitchette suite, which has a queen bed in the main area and two single beds in the bedroom. We booked this kind of suite again and this time were met with the... more

Capricorn resort was our choice for two families for a couple of nights before heading to a nearby island off the coast. I had been there a few years back and had returned regularly for the excellent golf, but it had been more than 5 years since I'd returned. It was always great for the kids because of all the... more

We travelled to capricorn with high hopes for a great Holiday and were disappointed by the crap food and just as bad staff . The resort is in desperate need of a revamp , rooms are ok just 3 star but the worst is the feeling of the resort. it is basically the local swimming pool where all the locals... more

Thanks for the feedback on the resort and region. The resort is situated on 11,000 arces so we have to manage day guests which are asked to sign in and must use the restaurant facilities. During peak periods such as holidays and weekends with higher occupancies we close the resort to day guests and monitor through gate security, this is...

The accommodation was ok and the pool great but the service particularly in the Billabong Cafe was really patchy. The prevailing attitude was not one of service but of performing a duty. A typical example was when I asked for a babycino for my 2 year old at 7.30pm at night - so she could be amused while my husband... more

Thanks for the feedback on Babycinos. I have followed up the concern and we now have small cups in the Billabong restaurant as well as the Tropic of Cappacino Coffee Shop. It is disappointing when an interaction with one team member can have a negative impact on your stay. I remember talking to you in regard to this so if...

We decided to stay at the resort regardless of the negative reviews due to attending a wedding that was actually at the resort. It was a great a promising road to the resort (dual lanes) but once we walked in the front doors of the resort to the reception everything looked quite a bit aged and the aircon was struggling... more

Thanks for the feedback on your recent stay especially in regard to the rooms, I noted the bedding was upgraded to our triple sheeting and it was a new bed. Over December we have continued this process taking in the 37 Standard rooms with new linen and curtains which has freshened up the look of the room. The air conditioning...

Stayed one night at the Rydges Capricorn Resort on a road trip. The grounds were quite lovely, but I couldn't believe the shabby room they tried to pass off on us for $180 or so we were spending. After threatening to check out and get a refund, they switched us to the main building where reception is, which is quite... more

Thanks for the feedback on your recent stay. I noted you were moved to a Royal Palms building room which has been refreshed. It is unfortunate that we have some inconsistent rooms where some have been refurbed whilst other rooms are to undergo this. We are more than halfway through updating the look and feel to the rooms with curtains,...

We stayed here after a long drive from Brisbane north to the Whitsundays. Yeppoon is halfway there and is not far from Rockhampton. Rydges is actually out of town and the resort is quite large. There is a holiday camp feel to the place. Its right on the beach but does not make the most of this. The rooms are... more

Thanks for the feedback. The resort is well placed for the driving holiday up the Queensland coast and is well positioned for a stop especially before taking on the long drive north to sarina and Mackay on the way up the coast. Remember we are about 40 kilometres back to the Bruce highway at Rockhampton. Thanks again for the feedback....
