Contrary to previous reviews, the hotel was actually pretty good while we were there. The rooms were clean, bathrooms as well, maids came and cleaned every day (without stealing, but they had an odd tendency to put our beds together). When we arrived we were advised to rent a safety deposit box which we did but as our departure was at 0815 we could not receive our deposit back from the reception as they did not handle cash until 0900. I stayed in the Selvamar Hotel for one week in November 2006 and found it to be the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Me and my husband decided to book a 5 night stay at this hotel because we were feeling stressed and needed a break away-we didn't know what stress was till we stayed at this dump!! Briefly, if you're looking for an experience from the 1960s - look no further than Selvamar Hotel. Absolutely dreadful. The bed had a squeaky old boxspring and the bedding did not seem clean. Stayed one night only and at 48 Euros, I guess you pay for what you get. Never to return. more
