We were traveling south along the outer banks doing some island hopping and using the NC ferry system. But when we got on Ocracoke Island we discovered that due to a boat inspection we could not get off the island (going south) until the next morning. So we randomly selected to stay at the Captain's Landing. It's about 30~50% higher... More

We just spent 3 nights in a 2nd floor queen suite and it was lovely. The location is beautiful and when we looked out our huge sliding glass windows, all we saw was the gorgeous blue bay, tip of the lighthouse, otters (who cuddled up under our window on the dock to sleep at night), pelicans, flocks of migrating birds... After living on the coast for 26 years I finally decided to take a little trip to Ocracoke. I called around to several places and finally made my choice to stay at Capts Landing and so glad I did. Capt George and his staff were very friendly and make you feel at home. We had a wonderful lady walk us... More

My wife and I have visited Ocracoke many times for day trips but had never stayed on the Island. So, after considerable research, Captains Landing was our first choice and we were lucky to book one of their 11 large suites. The suites are located directly on the water (only hotel that is DIRECTLY ON THE WATER). They have immaculately... More

I usually try and wait until the glow has worn off to review and/or critique. But when it comes to the Captain's Landing I just can't wait. We decided on a whim to go to Ocracoke and were fortunate enough to land here. Captain George met us at the airstrip, bundled us up and then he, his lovely wife Betty... More

Cottage was very clean. Nice tile floors in all rooms. Small yard up front, porch, and great deck. When you consider all the amenities, it is a good deal. Walking distance to coffee, meals and activities. If you don't want to eat out, you can make your own meals easily in the full kitchen. George was very helpful during the... More

We stayed in the Captain's Cottage and it was wonderful. Clean, big and beautiful view! Wonderful staff and so helpful and kind. We had forgotten the pack and play for baby but the staff found one for us from a friend of theirs. This was the off season but we had a wonderful time. Don't pass up a chance to... More

We were guests at Captain's Landing Cottage for a week recently and enjoyed our stay immensely! Betty and George are the most gracious hosts and soon you feel as if you're old friends. Karen, in the office, and Joyce, in the gift shop, are wonderful additions to the staff. As you are enjoying watching the boats on Silver Lake from... More
