Remember the days when motel rooms had real keys, the owner showed you a room before you checked in and without asking, and then gave good advice about the local hot spots? That's Edwards. Friendly, helpful, clean, retro, reasonablly priced, quiet and walking distance to everything in Ocracoke. In a word.....ideal. More

We recently spent a long weekend at Edwards of Ocracoke. It was total bliss! Friendly staff! Clean accommodations! Love the vintage look of the entire place. We had a room with a kitchenette - which was great this time of year, since so many places are closed for the season. We absolutely LOVE Edwards of Ocracoke and will definitely be... More

We having been coming to Ocracoke for years, having stayed at both the Anchorage Inn and Bluff Shoals motels, rented houses, etc. Edwards is the perfect place to stay for us, as you don't have to rent for the entire week, you can cook here (sometimes hard to find a meal on the island if you are arriving/eating late) and... Quaint. Simple. Quiet. Family owned & operated. You can not go wrong with any room here! Convenient location on the island. We've been 3 times and are going back tomorrow for our 1st anniversary! We won't stay anywhere else! More

We enjoyed our one evening in Ocracoke and liked the bungalow room we had at Edwards. The room had a somewhat rustic feel that fit the island's atmosphere nicely. It was also comfortable and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They rented bicycles to us which we enjoyed riding around the small village, down to the harbor... More

Ocracoke has a certain vibe and Edwards lodgings have hit the mark perfectly. The vibe is park your car and bike everywhere. The vibe is quiet island streets that are not marred by blazing streetlights -- that is you can enjoy the evening strolls and the sounds of nature. Edwards of Ocracoke gets the laid back style of the village.... More

Just got back from staying in Edwards. It was my 22nd yearly trip to the island and I had three newbies with me. Usually we stay in a house but since my family was not coming along we opted to stay in a hotel. I was a bit weary since I had never stayed in an Ocracoke hotel and they... More

This was our 1st trip to Ocrocoke in many years. We traveled with great friends who have always stayed at Edwards, so, they got each couple a Bungalow. They were in unit #9, and, we were in #10. This is, without a doubt, the cleanist place I've ever stayed. The rooms are not large, but, it's all anyone would need.... More

I don't get the allure of this island. Merchandized OBX. Average food. Very crowded. The islanders are unfriendly - including the owners of Edwards. More
