New Bern is not exactly the hot spot to go for European tourists. Actually, nobody to whom we mentioned the town had ever heard of it. But it is a great stopover when travelling along the Atlantic seaboard, as we found out, and the place of actually affordable, nice B&Bs. I stayed there for one night for a conference and couldn't have been happier that I chose NOT to stay at the nearby Hilton. The room was so clean and comfortable. The hosts made you feel right at home. The breakfast was outstanding with stuffed french toast and and freshly squeezed orange juice. Great value and highly recommended. more

I'd suggest the Hanna House to anyone looking for a economical get away. We stayed for only one night. We were able to choose our own item for breakfast and eat at the time we wanted.
