Of course you can stay at a nicer hotel in New Bern - a chain hotel on the water with fluffy pillows and room service. But, if you want to save money, take your dog, and get some laughs - stay at the Zig. It's homey. It's very clean. And it's different. I like that.

Although abbreviated, my stay at the Ziegler was very nice. The staff was friendly, informative, and accommodating. The room was very clean and well equipped. If I ever find myself in New Bern again, I will surely be staying at the Ziegler again.

I called while we were on the road and Ruthie made arrangements for us over the phone. We stayed in the Marilyn suite and it was great having a kitchen and sitting area. We will definitely stay there again. The Zig is better than most big hotel chains.
