My husband and I stayed for two nights in the main house in the early part of May 2013. We selected the Crown Room and were very comfortable. I believe we were the only guests in the main house at the time, and we got to peek in the other main house rooms and all appeared that they would be... More

Holly and Melanie are great host to their guest! Presentation was delightful and fresh every day! The breakfast was a treat every morning! Fresh foods from local farmers served daily. Yummy! The local art displayed in the house was breath taking, such talented artist and for sale. Holly and Melanie are strong supporters of their Community. Great experience! Karen

I stayed at the Culpepper Inn while in Elizabeth City on business and would highly recommend it to anybody. Holly, the proprietor, is very friendly and welcoming. She did all she could to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. The Culpepper Inn is located in a quiet historical neighborhood conveniently located near restaurants and other amenities. The rooms are spotlessly... More

On our journey visiting coastal towns of North Carolina in search of a place to relocate to, we booked a one night stay at the Culpepper Inn, Elizabeth City. Holly greated us warmly and explained the history of the property - she was very knowledgeable about the area and local offerings. She kindly insisted on making our dinner reservations that... More

I was stranded at the airport because of weather at my destination. Airport manager made the reservation for me and at first was leery of a B&B as I had never stayed at one. Upon arrival, was very warmly greeted by Holly. After explaining that I had not eaten dinner, she quickly enlisted her daughter's boyfriend who graciously took me... More

We came to Elizabeth City to attend my son's graduation from Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer School. I've really enjoyed staying in bed and breakfasts and the Culpepper continued the tradition of thoroughly enjoyable lodging while away from home. The grounds were lovely with massive oaks and magnolias adorning the front lawn. Inside, the living areas were a classic potpurri of... More

What a lovely description of your stay. I can assure you it was absolutely our pleasure to host all of you and we look forward to the opportunity again. You enjoyed the property just as we envisioned it to be enjoyed when we took over the Inn a few months ago. Thank you, thank you for your very kind words. More

Although I initially had a very good impression of the place, I was very disappointed with the place and would NOT recommend the place to anyone, especially with children. After my husband had checked in the early afternoon, we were given a tour of the place and welcomed to use the facilities. Although small, the bedroom (The Balcony) was quaint.... More

Unfortunately, this guest was not staying at the Inn and did not make the reservation when the children and pet policy was explained. She was visiting a guest that evening but came in town earlier for the day while the guest was at work. We generously offered to allow both she and her child to spend the day at the... More
