My mother stayed for a week in August, when she flew up from FL to have surgery at Duke. I stayed with her for a few days while she was recuperating. The price we paid for a huge bedroom, a bath, kitchen, living/dining room was less than I would have paid for a regular hotel room. The staff was friendly... more

Bottom line is if a kitchen and laundry are important to you then maybe stay here. If not, or you are use to better, than look elsewhere. Cheapest stiff towels possible, cheap living room furniture. The building is old and creaky with single-pain windows so it can be loud. The internet was slow. The bed was decent. The pool is... more

We are glad that you liked many things about our hotel, such as the Tempurpedic mattresses, our fully stocked kitchens, our laundry facilities and our pool, but disappointed you gave it a lower overall rating. May I suggest that next time you move to one of our Premium Suites, which are only $10 more per night and well worth it....

I stayed here for two nights, and chose it because I wanted someplace close to downtown with kitchen facilities. I understand each room is investor-owned, and so conditions may vary. My room needed some fresh paint and some general fixing-up: the old AC is very noisy; there were no amenities in the bathroom other than two small bars of soap;... more

Thank you for staying with us and we are sorry the suite did not meet your expectations. As you state, units are individually owned by investors. Many have been upgraded to Premium Suites, with upgraded furniture, flat-screen TVs, Pergo flooring and walk-in showers. Premium Suites are only $10 more per night and are good value. Other suites are in the...

This place is a treasure for us. We have stayed there twice and will be staying there often in the next few months as my husband undergoes chemotherapy at Duke Clinics. We stayed at 2 other Durham hotels before discovering Duke Tower Hotel & Condominiums and feel like we have found a home away from home. It's not fancy or... more

Three of us stayed at the Duke Tower while visiting the college campus. Three blocks from East Campus in a quiet residential neighborhood, 2 miles from the University center. Living area was clean and comfortable with more than adequate kitcheonette. The bedroom was a bit cramped with two double beds jammed in and bedding nothing special, but good value for... more

A group of us stayed in two separate rooms to visit a friend in Hospice. I called the day we were to arrive to verify late check-in and was told that we could come even into the next morning. Staff was helpful and friendly. We came at 10:30 p.m. after visiting all day with our friend and the Security Guard... more

We have a 48-cancellation notice as a general policy for people who cancel for no real reason. For people coming to Duke and Durham for medical reasons, of which we have many, we are quite reasonable and understand how circumstances change due to illness and other factors. We will work in good faith with guests who have to change their...

We are staying at Duke Tower while my husband receives radiation treatment at Duke Medical Center. This place is perfect for us. The free shuttle to Duke is the best. They would pick us up and drop us off at any time. We don't need a car at all. He is tired alot so we really didn't want to drive.... more

I came for medical tests at Duke so I got their medical rate of $65 per night. $65 a night bought me a pretty little suite with a full kitchen, wifi, 2 tvs, beds with memory foam mattresses and extra towels. It is a nice walk to Duke University's East campus and to Brightleaf Square which has a great Greek... more

This place was the best. For the cost of a standard room, we got a great condo with full kitchen, great pool, beautiful garden, fantastic staff that went out of the way to help us. I definitely suggest you stay here. Better than any of the others for a great price., more

Although somewhat removed from the middle of downtown, the location was simply ideal for our purposes on this trip, and it also wasn't an unreasonable walk to Brightleaf Square area restaurants (although it might be more of a walk than some may like). Downtown Durham isn't very large geographically anyway. I suppose some might consider it a bit of a... more
