Stayed 2 nights for a wedding. The place is absolutely charming; large, historic, and well-staffed. Breakfast was delicious. Surrounding neighborhood is older and fabulous. Very comfortable beds, large room/bathroom, though wish the shower was more up to date. We shared a large porch with the adjoining room - just wish it was a little warmer so I could have spent... I travel a great deal for business, and I made a conscious choice for 2011 to limit "chain" hotels. Whenever it fits my budget, I'm trying to stay in places with a bit more warmth, charm, and a personal touch. Well, the Duke Mansion wins the gold star so far! What an unexpected find. This Mansion is wonderfully situated in... More

This is my second stay this year in The Duke Mansion. This is an interesting not-for-profit trust running the Mansion. The rooms are amazingly spacious, decor is antique reproduction, and the beds/linens very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are also very spacious. I don't normally stay in bed and breakfasts for business, but this is big enough for a lot... More

This B&B was recommended by both friends and family, none of whom stayed here themselves but had always wanted to. We're glad we did! It was a lot of fun staying here and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Becky gave us a warm welcome and a fantastic room with sleeping porch overlooking the back yard from the 2nd floor. The... More

Stayed at Duke Mansion for four nights in July as part of a wedding party - the grounds and hotel are beautiful, really full of character and the rooms spacious and well appointed. A fee of the furnishings had some marks/stains but overall the rooms, including bathroom areas, were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good - considering this is... More

This bed and breakfast is wonderful! The room was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. We were in town for the UNC basketball game and this hotel was easy to get to the Time Warner Arena downtown. Parking was easy and this bed and breakfast has an elevator. We paid $199 a night during the weekend. This location is also... More

The Duke Mansion is a lovely inn in a beautiful tree-lined neighbourhood just outside of uptown Charlotte. We stayed for one night for an anniversary getaway and found it to be a great B&B. The room we had was very spacious, with a high ceiling, two sitting chairs, a writing desk. It opened up to a screened-in porch (2nd fl)... More

The property is gorgeous and welcoming, and the bed was fantastically comfortable, particularly the pillows. The towels were very nice. I didn't find it to be noisy at all. The Asian man who checked us out (didn't catch his name) was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The residential neighborhood is affluent and attractive. I didn't think our room looked worn down,... More
