“Beautiful location and a great staff”

This is a basic-but-nice hotel in an absolutely fantastic location. Banner Elk is a spectacular little town, way up in the Appalachians. Stayed at the BW in Banner Elk during a Memorial Day weekend trip along the Blue Ridge Pwy. Ended up in Banner Elk and the BW at the last minute as all the hotels in nearby Boone were sold out. “Great place to stay”

Had a king room. Was very clean. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Going back this week. Very warm atmosphere. Only complaint all entrances are outdoor. Going back this week, hoping for an even better experience.

“Good value for area.”

Hotel staff very friendly and eager to help. Unfortunately, the restaurant and lounge are closed indefinitely. When we were there the "only" ice machine was broken but we were able to get ice from the front desk. It was nice and clean but the beds were small and some of the things we asked for, they were out of them. Free breakfast was good but ran out of things to early, not enough help to maintain it I guess

We only spent one night-went up to Banner Elk to ski. This hotel is very close to the slopes. Nice enough. The staff were friendly. Free breakfast was pretty good. All in all a nice value and location is very good.

“nothing to write home about”

the good thing is this is located close to sugar mountain but that is it. the walls are thin, the tub backed up, the hot water ran out, the breakfast buffet was awful, and the rate was 125 for the night. They prey on the fact that it is close to the slop but it was NOT worth the money.... More
