We booked a whale shark swim package with a scenic flight from Learmouth Airport to Yardie Creek Station and pick up from there. We were met at the airport introduced to our pilot, our bags taken on the bus with the other passenger. A stunning scenic tour of the reef, checking out the whale sharks from the air to meet... More

The camp, just off the beach in the dunes, is perfection. Awake to the sunrise behind the tents and the sound of the surf breaking on the back of the reef. Play all day, watch the sun setting into the ocean from the deck of the lodge and fall asleep to the sound of the surf still breaking on the... More

I booked 3 nights with Sal Salis in a whaleshark swim package. On arrival, it was difficult as the phone at the resort broke down and we couldn't organise a time to meet up with the camp staff at the carpark. But once we got to the camp, Tash made us feel very welcome and organised for us to have... More

I travelled to Sal Salis with 2 friends - a place on my wishlist. Sal Salis Eco tents which we had viewed on a TV program and also Qantas magazine appealed on many levels. We had the most memorable and fabulous time. The location is just beautiful! We swam 10 metres from the beach and were snorkelling in what felt... More

Unique camp right on the edge of the reef. Out the front is a narrow gutter of water over sand and then the reef starts about 10m from the waters edge. So much sea life, and so varied. You walk south along the beach to where the waters edge turns to rock and then hop in, swim out to the... More

I have travelled fairly widely but this is one of the most special places I have visited. The reasons are multiple. Really welcoming and caring staff; amazing location in a national bush park and bordering a national marine park; great tents which were amazingly comfortable; superb food which was pitched perfectly; and plenty of activities managed by a team that... How exciting to find a little bit of heaven on earth - to lie inbed with a full moon and listen to waves crashing below you and not another light or sound... not many places left where this is possible. If you want a full shower - stay at home !! - this is an enriching experience, so walk on... More

Ok, what to make of Sal Salis? First impressions of the retreat – nestled between Ningaloo Reef and the Cape Range National Park – were great. On arrival (after the included airport transfer) we were greeted by friendly staff offering a range of welcome drinks and snacks. Perfect. Accommodation, as I later found out, was both rustic (think safari tents)... More

We had such a fantastic family holiday at Sal Salis. The Guides were so knowledgeable about the reef which made exploring an even more magical experience. The guides were also very happy to watch the kids (8 and 10) while we all snorkelled so the adults could relax and enjoy the experience. We viewed dozens of whales migrating as we... More

I certainly concur with several other comments. Does not represent value for money. The staff of 'back packers' are indifferent and clearly have no understanding of the quality that $1500-2000/night should buy. Meals were inconsistent...the team should have been ashamed of the breakfasts they served.Dinners were very good...lunch; was underwhelming. There is a 'lot of Indians, but no chief' and... More
