Off the beaten path, you think you are going to somewhere that nobody knows about. You may be right, but you will be pleasantly surprised. Friends of ours that are locals that live in Playa del Carmen took my wife and me to see the beautiful "Cenote" (natural spring that is like a small river) that ends off to one... More

We traveled to Blue Sky a few times during our vacation. Their Pizza was fresh and really delicious. The staff, were accomodating and our meals felt like the food was made with love. It is a quaint hidden jem between Tulum and Akumal and it is easy to miss but it is well worth the drive off the beaten path.... More

We stopped by to see if we could access the beach to snorkel the reef. Alonso said, "Of course. You can even use the kayaks." and he hoped we stayed afterwards for drinks and maybe a signature pizza. We did of course. The hotel is gorgeous. The pizza was wonderful, the vibe is luxury but laid back. More

Being from Chicago, I KNOW PIZZA. Traveling back from the beaches of Sian Kahn with my buddy Shaun (also form Chi-Town), we saw a sign for "Brick Oven Pizza" at Blue Sky Hotel. We had a long day and decided to stop for refreshments. It was a great call. This quaint modest Hotel was bathed in white, brick and stonework... More

I just returned from two weeks in the Yucatan -- we spent 5 nights at Blue Sky and I didn't want to leave it ! You can't ask for a more beautiful or tranquil setting, but with lots to do nearby. We had a suite with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. There's a cenote right across the street which... More

We ate at this hotel a year ago (2010) and found it to be a buzzing little spot so this year when we were looking for a place to spend a couple of extra nights after a week in a villa we thought of Blue Sky. Unfortunately the atmosphere was not the same - we ate there on the first... More

Dear, There is always room for improvements! After your comments, we added couching to our restaurant's chair for more comfort, added new pillows in the rooms, completed the memory foam mattresses pad in all our beds, new table clothes, new sheets, new beach towels, painted the balconies, new pump for the swimming pool. We also bought new ceiling fans for... More

This is a great find. Small hotel in a beautiful setting. You can walk 100 yards to the right and snorkel in the beautiful ocean. You can walk across the road and swim/snorkel/dive in the very beautiful lagoon/cenote. The owner is a yogi so he turned us on to a yoga studio in the area. The food at the hotel... More

We only had two nights there as a side trip from a timeshare in Cancun and I am so glad we did. We had a beautiful clean 2 bedroom 2nd floor ocean view room that had a large balcony with hammock and lounge chairs. Each of the two rooms had it's own bathroom so would suit a family like us... More

We read about the Blue Sky Hotel in a local newspaper article - and the author described it perfectly - a very reasonable priced place to stay that was clean, with some very good food (try their pizza, of course - and also their fish tacos!). Despite what some people have written here about not being able to snorkel -... More

Lovely place, great food, terrible location. Rooms were great, clean, well appointed, great ocean views. The bad news you can NOT GO INTO THE WATER.... it is a coral beach front that in NO WAY can you just go out and swim. Also without a car it is a 25 min walk on dirt road to HWY 307, walk across... Hello Dear, Our reservation's manager receives all types of questions about the area, things to do, what to expect before booking our hotel. I am surprised you did not get any advise. I am sorry to hear you do not recommend this place to anyone! What you did not like about our little paradise it is actually what most of... More
