Magnificent building. Our room was stunning (room no 8) so can't really relate to other reviews. No problems with either water or heating - bathroom was fine with piping hot water. Open fire in lounge was great place for pre or post dinner drink. Food was better than we have had elsewhere in Ecuador so far although still not hugely... More

Although we found the hacienda surrounded by beautiful gardens, we were disapponted somewhat by some little annoyances. For one we would have loved to sit amongst the flowers but only one seat with cushions saturated by rain. The dining rooms were cold especially for eating dinner in the evening. Hot water took an eternity to arrive in the bathroom. Fires... More

My wife and I stayed at here for one night, on a 5 day trip down the Avenue of Volcanoes, This is a beautiful Hacienda. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 rather formal staff members and shown to our comfortable if not slightly sparse and cold room. The room had historic character features such as the fireplace and the... More

Stunning old hacienda with gorgeous formal sitting rooms, nice restaurant etc. A delightful place to wander around and soak up the olde world charm and ambience. Our room was a big disappointment in comparison, especially when compared to the last hacienda we stayed at. Cold, draughty, unattractively and sparsely furnished, the bedrooms need some serious work to bring them up... More

I absolutely loved this hotel, from the drive up to it, to the internal courtyard with it's own chapel, this is one of my favourite hotels of all time. It is not right next to the national park so you need to do a tour or take a taxi. The tours through the hotel are quite expensive and our guide... More

When we arrived our room was at first not ready. After some discussion they showed us another room we did not like and then our first room was ready all of a sudden. It was a nice room with a big fireplace. This was absolutely necesary as the hotel walls are 2 metres thick it is quite cold inside. A... More

The sheer elegance of La Cinega as well as the sense of history made this hotel memorable. Learning about its history from the brochure and the staff gave us a much better understanding of Ecuador's past.Since our trip was more focussed on adventure and outside activities (than culture or history), it was particularly nice to stay in such a historic... The most wonderful driveway and entrance to this old Hacienda, the room was very clean but a little plain. We stayed 2 nights here and as we were on a photographic trip we had to leave rather early in the morning and the hotel were sorted us out with a packed breakfast .. great location for exploring the Cotopaxi National... The building itself is superb but the standard rooms were cold and sparse. I mentioned to the receptionist that we were cold and her retort was that there was a heater in our room to which I then replied that there weren't any chairs to sit on! The room was probably one of the worst we have stayed in. I... More

We stayed here during our trip through Ecuador. The building and surroundings are very nice looking. Rooms are large and luxury. It can be pretty cold here (though it wasn't for us) but there is electric heating available. Food was good, but nothing fancy. More
