I spent 5 days in Barranco Alto with my boyfriend in August. Pantanal is a wonderful place and you cannot be disappointed but Marina and Lukas (Barranco alto owners) make this experience unique. If you want a personal wildlife viewing experience this is the place to go. With only a maximum of 8 guests you will get personal one on one attention. To be honest, I was skeptical of the unanimous 5 star ratings that everybody had given. Could a lodge really be that great? After spending a few days here, it not only met my expectations, but also exceeded them. I don't give out very many 5 star ratings, but this definitely surpasses the rating scale.
