This place is amazing - we stayed in the very horrible and grotty hostel beside it the night before and had the worst night ever in Uganda so we decieded to spoil ourselves and upgrade! And it really was amazing - can't speak highly enough of it. Staff were really friendly and efficent , the food was excellent, rooms had... more

After a wonderful stay at Bwindi Lodge and Mihingo Lodge, we were transported to this awful time-warped 80s place. To be fair, the location is great, overlooking the Lake. But that's about it. The food in the restaurant is Westernized, badly cooked standard fare. The birds on the terrace take the bread from your desk and relieve themselves on your... more

Pretty much everyone who’s been to QENP is familiar with Mweya, since it occupies a fabulous location on a peninsula overlooking the Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward. Because it's so far from anything else, Mweya is a self-contained community, with guide and staff lodging, a petrol station, etc., and it's worth taking the time to stroll around the grounds. Everyone... more

My wife and I enjoyed a 3-night stay in this lodge, which is such a well-oiled machine that it can almost be described as a tourist processor. Though it definitely lacks the intimacy and the wilderness feeling of a tented camp, this luxury-hotel-in-the-bush is exceptionally well located indeed. While the rooms are nothing to write home about, the food really... more

This is a beautiful spot to see Queen Elizabeth National Park but I was disappointed with the lodge itself. The rooms are older and uncared for; our curtains didn't open without almost pulling them off the ceiling and the back door was virtually impossible to lock and unlock. After having stayed at the sister lodge Paraa at Murchison Falls last... more

Stayed for 3 nights at the beautiful lodge. Standard rooms are a sort of basic luxury - no a/c, tv, or fancy modern fittings, but if you're lucky enough to venture out of the park into the REAL Uganda you'll understand that this would be a near impossible feat! However, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the place really... more

I stayed at Mweya Lodge for 3 nights in June this year. This was my first trip to Africa and indeed Uganda, and the first place I would stay during my trip. I thought the service was exceptional, very friendly and helpful staff. I thought the lodge itself was very charming and my room was large and full of character.... more

I actually ended up staying at Mweya on accident. We went to the park and were planning to camp for the three nights we spent there. Another girl in the group decided to get a room for the night, thinking the cost would be worth the experience of staying in a safari lodge after spending a month living with locals.... more
