I thought this hotel was old and creepy. Hardly any staff at all. The rooms were old and dirty. Had to call housekeeping to fix the toilet and change the sheets, they were full of hair. Needless to say we will never stay there again. More

If by historic you mean old and run down, then yes the Gideon is historic. The finishes were worn, the paint on the ceiling was peeling, there was no fan in the bathroom, the tile was painted, the plumbing fixtures were rusted, and the hot water kept running out.
