This is our second stay in the last six months at this charming inn just off the New York Thruway, two hours north of New York City. The inn claims to be the oldest inn in America and we have no reason to doubt that claim. We've stay many times during the last decade, as it is for us, a... More

This was our second visit to Rhinebeck; on our first trip there we stayed at the Rhinecliff, which was fine but not great. While there the first time, we happened upon the Beekman. Being a history lover, my husband and I asked if we could see one of the guest rooms, which the woman at the front desk did with... More

The Beekman Arms has two things going for it, in spades: History and location. This is an old inn, I mean they claim to be the oldest operating inn in the country. It could be...there are some neat old documents and antiques around the place. The location is unbelievable, its right in the heart of Rhinebeck, an ideal location for... More

I stayed at the Beek for several days over Christmas, and am happy to call it a once in a lifetime experience. Granted, you don't get all the mod-cons of the efficient but soulless modern chain hotel. But if you want mod-cons I suggest you stay in an efficient but soulless modern chain hotel. The Beek staff, in my experience,... More

Our recent business venture brought us to Red Hook NY for a possible purchase of a closed supermarket. During our visit the previous owner recommended staying at the Beekman Arms in Rinebeck, NY. Regrefully we requested a room in the main building in which we were denied by the front desk clerk stating they were booked. Later we found they... More

stayed in the "firehouse" suite which is located around the back of the main inn, through a parking lot, up an outdoor staircase to the 2nd floor. definitely not for anyone w/difficulty climbing 2 staircases. would also be a bit dicey i think, in snow or rain. a bit odd but once inside, the suite is huge though a little... Place is historic, but staff needs to know at least why it is a history treasure. We should have been told before reservation that room was not close to main building where we had to have breakfast. They should also train staff on giving information about tour attractions in the area. Cottage was on the noisy big road. Positive side:... More

We have been going to Rhinebeck to cut our Christmas tree for approximately 10 years now and have been going to the Beekman Arms for lunch following our tree cutting for about 7 years. Once again we experienced poor service and a long wait for our food. We were a party of 8 and were brought 1 small basket of... More

I recently had a wedding to attend in the Rhinebeck area of New York which is a couple of hours north of NYC on the Hudson River. I stayed at the historic Beekman Arms, America's oldest continuously operating Hotel dating back to 1776.George Washington and everybody else of any importance in our history has slept there. It is a lovely quaint... We found through Tripadvisor, thought it was delightful. We also stayed in room above the front desk, I was warned it may be noisy but didn't find that to be the case . The room was cosy and full of character, what you would expect from an old Inn. perfect location. More
